Scope: Developed Byte (iOS) and Peach (iOS and Android) from ideation to app store launch with team. Highlights: Both noted by media including The Verge, New Republic and Tech Crunch as advancing creative tools and social media “with a ruthless focus on affect.” Peach went viral, hitting #9 in social networking apps within one day. ### Product Designer @ The New York Times Jan 2014 – Jan 2015 | New York, NY Challenge: Evolve the visual and UX design system for nytimes.com ecosystem. Scope: Worked on nytimes.com as part of its in-house digital design team. Highlights: • Led digital redesign of The New York Times Magazine in alignment with the print design, based on target reader qualitative research. • Conceptualized, collaboratively developed and pitched an approach to T Magazine that was more interactive and human, and financially efficient. • Redesigned galleries and implemented incremental, iterative improvements on the navigation and homepage. ### Product Designer @ Sagmeister & Walsh Jan 2013 – Jan 2014 | New York, NY Challenge: Jumped in for 4 months on The Jewish Museum redesign for this studio. Scope: Led client through final project phase. Highlights: Worked with brand designers, museum stakeholders and engineering agency to create a new, modern identity for The Jewish Museum, which won a Type Directors Club award. ### Product Designer @ Studio Rodrigo Jan 2012 – Jan 2013 | New York, NY Challenge: Was the 5th person in this then 6-month-old, start-up agency. Aligned experiences across devices under creative director’s mentorship on best-in-class interaction models and patterns. Scope: Designed apps and websites from blue sky ideation to wireframing, visual design, prototyping to final ship. Highlights: Worked with clients including This American Life on first mobile optimized site and Bedrocket on a new video streaming model that seamlessly integrated social feeds with original programming feeds. ### Product Designer @ LAB at Rockwell Group Jan 2011 – Jan 2012 | New York, NY Challenge: Continued interactive experience design—prototyping, physical computing and workshopping—but this time more commercially focused, on a larger scale, with more focus on physical spaces, and working directly with engineers in a team of 8 in this studio that was captive within an architecture firm. Scope: Led art direction and design on team of 2 with no head of design, working on design systems, art direction, concept development for interactive displays, immersive projections, kiosk screens and web/mobile applications. Highlights: Led art direction and creation of design system for Google’s Customer Experience Center. ### Graphic Designer @ Local Projects Jan 2008 – Jan 2011 | New York, NY Challenge: Reported to art director at this pioneering agency—then 8 people now 100+—leading the reinvention of museums and public spaces as immersive, human experiences. Scope: Designed interfaces for kiosk touch screens, websites, mobile apps, storyboards for films and motion graphics, and environmental signage. Highlights: Part of team that created 11 permanent exhibitions for the new National Museum of American Jewish History, prototyping pioneering interactive digital installations for client feedback.
