# Cody Hasty > Friendly Neighborhood Problem Solver Location: San Francisco, California, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/codyhasty I’m a software engineer with a strong frontend focus, specializing in TypeScript, React, and Next.js. Most of my work has been centered around building and optimizing user interfaces—whether it’s revamping outdated pages for better UX, improving conversion rates through A/B testing, or developing data-heavy internal tools. I’ve had experience working across the stack, using Ruby on Rails, Express, and FastAPI, and I really enjoy picking up new technologies as needed—at one point, I taught myself Kotlin during an interview process and was able to contribute from day one. Outside of work, I have a passion for robotics, 3D printing, and all varieties of hands-on arts and crafts. Right now, I’m revisiting an old project: building a fully custom animatronic dragon using Blender, Tinkercad, and 3D printing. This year, I've prioritized giving back to my local community at the Commons, where I've been working to help others reignite their passions through co-creation, connection, and shared learning experiences. Through this time, I have discovered that I deeply enjoy organization of physical and digital spaces and one of my superpowers is reorganization methods centering around reducing day-to-day friction for neurodiverse individuals. Currently, I’m looking for frontend-focused roles in San Francisco and I’d love to find a small to medium sized team where I can make an impact while continuing to grow. My ideal roles center around my favorite part of coding - tinkering with the digital canvas. I deeply enjoy frontend work for web applications (writing CSS never gets old), data visualization, game development, and bringing new hardware to life. I'm also interested in ad-hoc physical and digital space management for teams that align with my values in communtity building. If you align with this and have found yourself buried in clutter or outdated documentation, I'd love to find out how I can help! ## Work Experience ### Space Manager @ The Commons Jan 2025 – Present | San Francisco, California, United States ### Software Engineer @ Instrumentl Jan 2023 – Jan 2024 | San Francisco, California, United States • Revamped outdated website pages to improve user experience and increase conversion rates • Conducted A/B tests to determine the most effective user interface for new and existing features • Expanded the company's grant information ingestion pipeline to include more data sources ### Software Engineer @ SiriusXM Jan 2021 – Jan 2023 | Oakland, California, United States • Spearheaded construction of an alternative CRUD interface for a command-line tool used by multiple teams • Mentored new engineers in best practices and training to use company software • Presented at cross-platform stand ups on team progress and new initiatives ### Apprentice Software Engineer @ SiriusXM Jan 2021 – Jan 2021 | San Francisco Bay Area • Integrated a Java to Typescript React app plugin to display a custom Android SDUI layout inspector • Evaluated multiple blockers preventing Espresso from returning accurate data within a Jenkins CI/CD pipeline • Ensured new steps to track analytics and outages impacting media playback ### Quality Assurance Engineer @ Volley Jan 2019 – Jan 2019 | San Francisco Bay Area • Analyzed data collected through AWS Lambda, Amplitude, and Amazon Cloudwatch logs for consistencies between bugs • Refined an Airtable database containing thousands of songs by removing duplicates and updating incorrect metadata • Enforced a high standard of quality by catching over a dozen code-breaking bugs during product testing ### Software Engineer @ MYMIC LLC Jan 2019 – Jan 2019 | Portsmouth, Virginia • Developed two cross-platform augmented reality apps using Unity and Vuforia in partnership with the US Air Force • Constructed 3D models of heavy equipment and animated them in Blender for visual tutorials of repair and maintenance • Collaborated with a team to attend conferences, deliver demos, and provide updates to the NSF ### Web Services Administrator @ MYMIC LLC Jan 2018 – Jan 2019 | Portsmouth, VA • Maintained the company’s SQL databases for their iOS and Android apps, containing daily activity for over 90 companies • Designed and implemented scannable barcodes through augmented reality for use with mobile apps for ease of use • Resolved user requests for new features in the company’s online OSHA training programs ### Intern @ MYMIC LLC Jan 2018 – Jan 2018 | Portsmouth, Virginia • Completed major updates to the HTML and CSS content of all company websites • Catalogued company websites based on domain name, hosting services, and content management systems • Documented all company OSHA training videos with url, host platform, and duration in extensive Excel spreadsheets ### Undergraduate Student Researcher @ Old Dominion University Jan 2017 – Jan 2018 | Norfolk, Virginia • Presented findings of MRC bezier curve fitting using seven different algorithms of weighting inner-protein angles • Leveraged Python scripts in UCSF Chimera to demonstrate lateral and longitudinal discrepancies from protein analysis • Extended the Common Bioinformatics Library repository for PDB and MRC manipulation in C++ ## Education ### Curriculum Of Study in Web Development (Ruby on Rails and Javascript) App Academy Jan 2020 – Jan 2020 ### N/A in Modeling and Simulation Engineering / Computer Engineering Old Dominion University Jan 2015 – Jan 2019 ## Contact & Social - LinkedIn: https://linkedin.com/in/codyhasty - Website: https://www.hastycreations.com/ - GitHub: https://github.com/Brittany-Hasty --- Source: https://flows.cv/codyhasty JSON Resume: https://flows.cv/codyhasty/resume.json Last updated: 2026-03-20
