As Co‑Founder, Lead Software Engineer, and Chairman of ZapIntern—a startup I led to build an AI‑driven internship applying recruitment platform—I was deeply involved in both product and technical direction. This all‑in‑one system let students drop their resumes and apply to hundreds of internships via features like ZapApply, MegaApply, and TellZapIntern, all powered by backend automation and AI integration. It also lets recruiter quickly chat with ZapAI to describe and find the perfect candidate from thousands of resumes uploaded to ZapIntern.
1. Full‑stack architecture & automation platform
I designed and implemented ZapIntern’s core infrastructure: a modern web app built with a robust MERN-like architecture (React + Node.js + Express) I led development of a custom job‑list engine (“ZapLists”) aggregating over 7,600 internship listings across multiple seasons, and built a scalable queue‑based backend that coordinates 50+ freelance agents to execute one‑click applications scenarios. Later, we pivot and moves from working with freelancers to using our AI-ZapAI to auto-fill applications from the cloud instead.
2. AI‑powered form autofill (“ZapAI”)
To reduce reliance on third‑party agents, I spearheaded development of ZapAI—an intelligent autofill engine that learns from thousands of internship application forms. I trained it to identify resume fields and intelligently fill application forms end‑to‑end—even complex platforms like Workday .
3. End‑to‑end developer leadership & team scaling
Leading a distributed team of engineers and freelancers, I established agile workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring systems. I oversaw deployment on scalable cloud services, implemented secure credential storage.
