# Cole Spector > Software Engineer at Gecko Robotics Location: New York, New York, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/colespector ## Work Experience ### Software Engineer @ Gecko Robotics Jan 2024 – Present | New York City Metropolitan Area Worked on the Enterprise team to develop the Forecast application (Cantilever’s frontend) • Owned the development of the “site view” page within Forecast, which allows users to easily comprehend asset-health and expected CapEx on a fleet level through a 3D-visualization of their plant with the asset digital twins superimposed. • Reduced the organizational gap between FDEs and SWEs by facilitating better communication and understanding around projects, timelines, and goals for each team. • Implemented the ability to display categorical data in Forecast, which was paramount for our Gov endeavors. • Resolved critical asset operational and manufacturing data duplication ### Forward Deployed Engineer @ Gecko Robotics Jan 2022 – Jan 2024 | New York City Metropolitan Area Owned the development of a flexible pipeline for calculating “on demand derived data-layers” in typescript, to fix a problem where users were being displayed out-of-date data. • Developed a web-worker manager to host the calculations on users’ local machines, where they can be performed whenever needed without blocking the UI/UX. This web-worker manager has since served as the foundation for a wide set of new Cantilever features. • Created a new algorithm that leverages typescript closures, allowing for maximum scalability and flexibility for future calculations. • Extended internal caching data-structures to both reduce the memory overhead and to avoid any unnecessary calculations. Spearheaded development and maintenance of the Asset-Fix application frontend: the prototype for Forecast. • Updated Asset-Fix data-storage to use an external database instead of locally stored files. • Migrated the Asset-Fix frontend from Dash to React, which facilitated access to non-technical users. • Developed keyboard controls in Asset-Fix which allow for better navigation around the unit's digital-twin. • Designed and implemented the "region" functionality in Asset-Fix, which allows users to both view potential outage areas, and to create, edit, and display proposed repair plans on a digital twin of the unit. • Designed and developed the Boilerview application, which provides an executive level view of repair plans and their outcomes for critical-infrastructure units. • Deployed Asset-Fix to Gecko’s first “POV” customer, leading development of tailored features and customer presentations on-site. ### Founder and President @ Spector Technology, LLC Jan 2017 – Present | Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina Area • Worked as the first author to create the (Wirelessly Capable Sports Mouth-Piece) (US20170070797A1) and as a secondary officer on the Pet Harness for Monitoring Body Temperature and Providing Cooling or Heating. ### Web Developer @ CAROLINA BALLET THEATRE INC Jan 2022 – Jan 2022 | Raleigh, North Carolina, United States • Reformatted and optimized the Carolina Ballet website in PHP. • This remodeling delivered an improved user interface, granting the customer a more comprehensive, dynamic, and fluid experience. ### Head Programmer @ GreySun Technologies, Inc. Jan 2021 – Jan 2022 | Raleigh, North Carolina, United States • Lead a full-stack development team in React-Native to create an immersive and intuitive iPhone and Android application to be paired with the GreyBand hardware. • This application aims to help users to act as active participants in their own and their friend’s safety when consuming alcoholic beverages by providing stylized information about their BAC and receiving customized notifications if a specified friend has an elevated BAC. ### Whitewater Rafting Guide @ Echo Canyon River Expeditions Jan 2021 – Jan 2021 | Canon City, Colorado, United States • Participated in an intensive five-week training course, and then led groups of 4-8 people down the Big Horn Sheep Canyon section of the Arkansas River. ### Intern @ SAS Jan 2017 – Jan 2017 | Cary, North Carolina • Manually catalogued individual server locations throughout SAS campus using Microsoft Excel and created a local webpage using JavaScript to provide locational and functional information about any server on any SAS campus. • Began development on a program in SAS which could read CT scans and determine whether a patient has a sinus infection. • Both roles were aimed at improving the efficiency of different tasks. The server catalogue allows SAS employees to check the status of their projects’ servers, reducing the potential downtime caused by server malfunctions. The sinus infection diagnostic tool is aimed at expediting the process of scanning patients for sinus infections: the number one cause of visits to an ear nose and throat medical practice. ## Education ### Computer Science and Psychology Duke University Jan 2018 – Jan 2022 ### Cary Academy Jan 2011 – Jan 2018 ## Contact & Social - LinkedIn: https://linkedin.com/in/cole-spector-4487a2171 --- Source: https://flows.cv/colespector JSON Resume: https://flows.cv/colespector/resume.json Last updated: 2026-03-23
