# Collin Sieffert > Lead Product Engineer Location: New York, New York, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/collinsieffert As a dedicated engineer with a strong foundation in academics, athletics, and cutting-edge AI, I bring technical expertise, disciplined execution, and a relentless drive to solve real-world problems through machine learning, full-stack development, and product innovation. I hold a B.S. in Computer Engineering from the University of Minnesota and an M.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Florida, where my graduate work centered on convolutional neural networks and advanced AI technologies. During my time at UF, I was a competitive NCAA Division I track and field athlete—a six-time Academic All-American, four-time All-American, and two-time national champion as a Florida Gator. These experiences sharpened not just my physical abilities but also my commitment to discipline, teamwork, resilience, and pursuing excellence under pressure. My research has focused on efficient, impactful AI: • Undergraduate work at the University of Minnesota explored hyperdimensional one-shot learning for data-efficient machine learning models. • Graduate research at the University of Florida developed platform engagement modeling and prediction systems to forecast user interactions. Early in my career, I applied these skills practically—including an internship where I built a regex and decision tree-based NLP model to auto-generate patent drafts from input claims. This project sparked my passion for natural language processing and generation, paving the way for my work with generative AI agents and large-scale language models. Currently, I’m Lead Product Engineer at DetectAuto (employee #1, joined February 2024), where I architect, develop, and ship AI-powered tools that streamline auto repair shops. We empower owners, technicians, and service advisors with automations for maintenance recommendations, DVIs, service history reviews, workflow enhancements, and integrations (like Tekmetric)—driving 25x revenue growth in our first full year while scaling to 10k+ DAU. My hands-on full-stack contributions span the entire tech stack, from backend AI logic to frontend shop interfaces, alongside leading beta testing programs, SOC 2 compliance implementation, and mentoring our growing engineering team. I thrive on turning complex shop challenges into elegant, customer-obsessed solutions. Grateful for the journey so far and excited to keep pushing boundaries in AI, automotive tech, and product engineering. Let’s connect if you’re working on ML/AI, GenAI agents, full-stack development, auto tech, startups, or just love building things that make a difference! ## Work Experience ### Lead Product Engineer @ Detect Auto Jan 2026 – Present | New York City Metropolitan Area Leading end-to-end product design, development, and scaling of high-impact features serving 10k+ daily active users, delivering reliable, user-centric solutions that drive real efficiency gains in auto repair shops • Architecting and shipping features continuously across the full tech stack (frontend workflows, backend automations, AI-driven insights like maintenance recommendations and DVIs), directly contributing to 25x revenue growth in our first full year • Developed and supported the beta testing program for new products, collaborating with early shop partners to gather feedback, iterate rapidly, and ensure features meet real-world needs • Spearheaded SOC 2 compliance implementation, building secure, scalable processes and infrastructure to support trust and growth as we expand • Guiding the growing engineering team: mentoring engineers, owning technical strategy, prioritizing roadmaps, and staying customer-close through on-site shop visits and direct feedback loops • Pushing innovation in automotive service tech by turning complex pain points (e.g., service history reviews, inspection bottlenecks, communication silos) into elegant, automated tools that save time and increase revenue ### Full Stack Senior Software Engineer @ Detect Auto Jan 2025 – Jan 2026 Developed AI automations for the automotive industry Built out browser extension products to automate tasks Aggregated data to provide on demand maintenance recommendations Architected systems scaling to thousands of daily active users. ### Full Stack Software Engineer @ Influxer Jan 2024 – Jan 2024 | Dallas, Texas, United States * Developed proprietary internal Python web scraping, parsing and data mapping tools to automate the intake of athlete information for business systems * Developed internal MySQL Python library for interacting with the backend database converting pandas dataframes to proper sql strings for reading and writing * Developed proprietary internal tooling dashboard in React * Developed proprietary internal data analytics dashboard for financial analysis across all areas of business * Integrated and developed tools on the backend internal Go webserver for automating business processes * Fully hosted development on AWS, leveraging tools and languages such as RelationalDB, React, GO, Python, EC2 (hosting the backend Go webserver), Git, GitHub ### Full Stack Senior Software Engineer @ AgileATS Jan 2023 – Jan 2023 | Telluride, Colorado, United States • Full product owner of front facing React web-app platform • Developed internal web scraping, parsing, and data mapping tools to automate the onboarding process for clients migrating from other platforms • Developed data migration and ETL tooling to import custom mapped data into our platform • Fully developed the AWS SDK build pipeline to spin up new amplify projects and resources • Fully hosted development on AWS, leveraging tools and languages such as S3, DynamoDB, Kubernetes, EKS, Typescript, NestJS, Kafka, PostgreSQL and Hasura GraphQL Engine, ETL ### Full Stack Senior Software Engineer and Artificial Intelligence lead @ Conectere Jan 2020 – Jan 2023 | Florida, United States Founded startup company providing cloud-based, AI-driven software platform directed to employee connectivity and engagement to enhance hybrid and remote work Developed internal data analytics and artificial intelligence end-to-end pipeline Cloud-hosted on AWS with ML models running in lambda functions based on platform interaction data written to the cloud databases ### Graduate Student Researcher @ University of Florida Jan 2021 – Jan 2022 | Gainesville, Florida, United States • Worked directly with Dr. Catia Silva, machine learning research professor, to develop proprietary cloud analytics systems for Conectere • Developed behavioral modeling techniques to simulate human interaction on a web platform • Utilized modern ML strategies to predict employee engagement trends based on current and historical interaction data ### Undergraduate Research Assistant @ University of Minnesota Jan 2019 – Jan 2020 | Minneapolis, Minnesota Developing hyper dimensional computational algorithms and applications of such computing techniques. ### Data Science Engineering Intern @ 3M Jan 2019 – Jan 2019 Developing a new data simulator for our cloud connected devices.
