I’ve spent the last 25+ years building software systems — from early internet platforms to modern distributed backends — and I still enjoy being close to the code.

My career has lived at the intersection of architecture and implementation. I’ve led teams, designed large-scale systems, and helped organizations bring complex products from concept to production. But I’ve never strayed far from the keyboard (for too long). I believe the best technical leaders stay grounded in the craft.

I’m particularly drawn to problems that involve:

• distributed systems  

• scalable backend architecture  

• data modeling and analytics  

• complex product design  

• turning ambiguous ideas into working systems  

Over the years I’ve worked across startups and larger organizations, helping teams move from prototype to production while building maintainable systems that can evolve over time.

More recently I’ve been exploring how AI can augment software architecture and development workflows — moving beyond blindly asking Claude for answers and instead using LLMs as collaborative tools for architecture exploration and rapid iteration.  I tend to think of them less as replacements for engineers and more as extremely fast research assistants that occasionally hallucinate with great confidence.

My technical background today centers largely around Python-based backend systems and cloud-native architectures, including:
