As the first full time designer at Scout, I strived for design to showcase the power of how visual and experiential quality can lead to user growth and retention. I championed our design system and led initiatives to work with engineers to ensure a one to one execution between our design library and code base. I worked on large zero to one features like bookkeeping, and LLCs as well as consistent small wins through improvements in content, account consolidation and login flows. I strive for cross org collaboration through pooling our sales and support teams to provide athlete feedback that could be turned into personas and user journeys. I took our qualitative findings and existing user data to drive design proposals that fed into both our short term roadmaps and our long-term product vision.

As the first designer for a Y-Combinator backed startup focused on transforming the restaurant experience with AI technology, I led the development and implementation of the drive-thru ordering kiosk’s design system, ensuring it met the needs of various client types. I closely collaborated with engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of design and technology, fostering robust engineering partnerships. Additionally, I crafted a unique voice animation style and managed design quality assurance, culminating in successful in-person trials with our client, Krispy Kreme.

Lead Designer on the Creator Growth team. Played a key role in driving the Creator Growth roadmap by instilling alignment between design, engineering, product management, and corporate leadership through the implementation of comprehensive data analysis, experimentation, and visual enhancements. Focused on working with the design systems team to ensure cohesive and scalable solutions around our Creator Acquisition Email series, making a comprehensive email template now leveraged by various growth partners and teams. Partnered with various disciplines and 3rd-party data providers to conduct experiments aimed at converting potential Creators into active users. Strategically leveraged email and in-app frameworks. Achieved an impressive 50% growth (25k new Creators) in our cohort throughout 2021, with a consistent 5% year-over-year growth. Spearheaded a redesign of our overall Creator correspondence framework, collaborating closely with content designers, data analysts, and engineering teams to align with our company’s new mission in increasing original content. This included introducing data-focused emails and enhancing in-product experiences such as Monthly Creator stats and Creation trends. Resulted in a significant bump in retention, as creators who actively engaged with these new features were three times more likely to continue creating week over week.
