# Dan Hepworth > Software Engineer @ Satflow Location: New York City Metropolitan Area, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/danhepworth I love learning about the world and how things work (and don't work), and I find the best way to do that is trying stuff out, plus leveraging the wisdom of others. I'm from Long Island, went to Chaminade High School, and then graduated from Duke University a year early as a computer science major and finance minor. After college, I digital nomaded for a year, hopping from one Airbnb to another across the world. Then, I lived in: NW Arkansas, Tulsa, St. Louis, and Austin. Finally, I returned to NYC. I started my first company, The Massapequa Tutor, as a junior in high school. I grew this peer tutoring startup to a team of over 40 contractors and sold it when I graduated college. I also unsuccessfully launched a few other startups while in college, but l earned a ton in the process. At the time, I was more of the business/product/operations/idea guy. But, I pushed myself to take up engineering more seriously to be dangerous in all areas. After college, I worked as a Software Engineer at AktaryTech for a year, where I consulted for various crypto projects. I went from no-stack to full-stack. Then, I decided to freelance, where I worked on a variety of backend and smart contract projects in fields such as quantitative trading, decentralized finance, logistics, and cryptocurrency security. Here, I gained mastery in those fields and wrote production-grade, audited code trusted with millions of dollars. After a brief stint at Mastercard, I got back into the startup arena as an engineer at Satflow/Swap Labs! In my free-time I'm either working out, traveling, playing poker, playing with my dog Meadow, or at Church (Catholic).
