Provided Jasmine and Protractor test coverage at product standards of 90% or greater. Implemented new features and fixed existing functional issues and UX in the ExtJS legacy codebase for user-generated audit campaigns of access and credential ownership. Brought the existing code up to product standards by normalizing and refactoring. Increased automated Jasmine tests from 2% coverage to > 70% where possible. Worked closely with Software Engineers in Test to resolve test-framework and performance issues reducing suite execution times in half. Expanded and improved Java BeanShell audit reports used by end-users and outside auditors to certify the results of access and credential membership audits. Implemented new Selenium and jUnit e2e tests, including implementing dynamic setup and tear-down to replace manual configuration of test servers, saving time and aggravation. Worked closely with client services department to identify, investigate and resolve customer or client services-identified product issues. Improved Datadog logging and monitored product for issues in production, as well as automated test success rates, resolving any issues that led to dips in test success rates below a 90% threshold. Attended ng-Conf 2017 in Salt Lake City and had a blast! ### Front-End Developer @ NetSpend Jan 2015 – Jan 2015 | Austin, Texas Area Developed a ReactJS Netspend plugin for the Intuit/Netspend customers providing some simple integration between products. Prototyped an AngularJS application to replace the existing legacy SpringMVC/jQuery application codebase as a POC for the next generation of the customer-facing account application. Diagnosed and fixed issues in SpringMVC RESTful API. ### Senior UI Engineer @ Micro Focus Jan 2011 – Jan 2012 | Austin, Texas Area Designed and implemented a single-page web app utilizing JavaScript, jQuery for DOM selection and a few other light-weight libraries such as John Resig’s SimpleInheritance to produce “nuts-and-bolts” of the app, including a light-weight Observer patterned base class that UI widgets or objects in memory could extend as well as a simple MVVM architecture when BackboneJS and KnockoutJS were found to be problematic for our uses at the time. Developed “smart-menus” that repositioned themselves relative to their triggering element and its position relative to the screen edge. Architected and implemented a custom “tree-grid” that needed to be able to render in different modes (nested hierarchical, flat list) and featured drag and drop of rows, resizing of columns , auto-scroll on drag, and integrated charting in each row using jqPlot. Designed and implemented numerous other reusable UI widgets and updated and created RESTful services in SpringMVC when necessary. Responsible for creating automated functional tests and executing those tests as our team’s “definition of done.” Successfully launched to market in October of 2012 with a final product name of StarTeam Agile. ### Team Lead @ e-MDs Jan 2009 – Jan 2011 | Austin, Texas Area Spent 75% of my time working in native JavaScript or with third-party JavaScript libraries like Prototype.js to develop a cutting-edge electronic medical records application. The remainder of my development time was spent in .NET MVC creating or updating RESTful services, designing and implementing MSSQL data-schemas and stored procedures, or assisting other developers. After nine-months at e-MDs, I was promoted to Team Lead which allowed me to more fully mentor junior members of the team and get more deeply involved in product delivery. Led a team of four developers and one qa member during this time guiding estimation, planning, and delivery for our unit. ## Contact & Social - LinkedIn: https://linkedin.com/in/danielhiltbrand --- Source: https://flows.cv/danielhiltbrand JSON Resume: https://flows.cv/danielhiltbrand/resume.json Last updated: 2026-03-22
