# Daniel L. > Senior Software Engineer Location: Riverbank, California, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/daniell2 Software Engineer/Solutions Architect. Generalist with 10 years of experience working across web and mobile hybrid. I try to find a way to deliver value in any part of the software stack. Software serves the business. Value team chemistry above all else. Technical skills range anywhere from: building, consulting, and selling mobile applications; architecting enterprise micro-services; building scalable web applications and node.js or go backends; running in-depth SQL reports; writing CI/CD bash scripts; pre-scaling k8s during on-call SRE shifts; building an auto-generating GraphQL schema wrapper around SequelizeORM; etc, etc, etc ## Work Experience ### Senior Software Engineer, SRE - Developer Platforms Engagements @ The New York Times Jan 2025 – Present ### Senior Software Engineer - Games @ The New York Times Jan 2024 – Jan 2025 ### Senior Software Engineer - Web Platforms @ The New York Times Jan 2022 – Jan 2024 ### Owner, Solutions Architect @ Eidos, LLC Jan 2017 – Present Formerly D.L. Software Solutions/Independent Contractor Built, implemented, architected, and pm’d a robust software suite - mobile and web applications - overseeing a digital transformation for a data collection process to be used in 11 different countries for my client. The mobile application was designed for 90% offline-first use, with the remainder of usage being a syncing process with the backend to export collected data. I built and maintained it pro-bono for ~3 years before selling licensing and src code in 2020. Originally explored freelancing in 2017. Founded D.L. Software Solutions later while building a mobile application software suite automating order-processing and managmenet in food service industry. Moved back into freelancing afterwards. Founded eidos, LLC. in February, 2022 ### Senior Development Lead - Platform @ Endava Jan 2022 – Jan 2022 In my short time, I worked with a large team of over 100 people, spanning multiple agencies and companies in the food logistics, warehousing, and distribution space for one of the largest logistics companies in the world. I helped contribute three wins: 1. Helped solve a multi-tenancy task-sequencing race conditioning by proposing a solution to use unique constraint indexes to enable transactional locks on records that should only be active and assigned to one user. 2. Proposed and oversaw implementation of an in-memory cache of static database lookup records. Reduced database queries on heavily queried tables by over 10x by using the cache as a read store. 3. Documented a "State of the System" abstract that was presented to key upper-level stakeholders and architects to help them gain a high-level understanding of the current system architecture. This abstract also proposed areas of improvement and next steps for a new roadmap for a growing platform team. ### Software Architect - Platform @ Made Renovation Jan 2021 – Jan 2021 Leading Platform team.
