# Daniel Lancour, PhD > Staff Data Engineer at Dyno Therapeutics Location: Greater Boston, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/daniellancourphd I am a Bioinformatics PhD doing a combination of genomics research and database engineering. My thesis projects were an interdisciplinary combination of statistics, machine learning, network algorithms, gene expression, protein interactions, and genetic sequencing. As part of three major academic consortia (the Alzheimers Disease Sequence Project, the Alzheimers Disease Genetic Consium, and the Consortium for Alzheimer's Sequencing Analysis), I had the opportunity to learn from the country's most experienced geneticists in Alzheimer's. Additionally, my time in consortia taught me how to communicate and present my published papers and work to large audiences. Since transitioning into industry, thus far I have worked in a number of areas varying from database management (Snowflake, SQL Server, Big Query), Natural Language Processing, Python, Oncology, AWS, and Kubernetes. ## Work Experience ### Staff Engineer @ Dyno Therapeutics Jan 2024 – Present | Boston, Massachusetts, United States ### Senior Bioinformatics Data Engineer @ Dyno Therapeutics Jan 2023 – Jan 2024 | Watertown, Massachusetts, United States ### Data Engineer II (Genomics) @ Dyno Therapeutics Jan 2022 – Jan 2023 | Watertown, Massachusetts, United States High throughput capsid engineering involves being able to efficiently scale Next Gen Seq (NGS) workflows in the cloud and adapt as underlying algorithms and technology change. As a trained geneticist with a breadth of experience in different cloud architectures, my role at Dyno involves implementing NGS best practices into a robust and efficient framework for all end users to utilize. ### Senior Bioinformatics Data Engineer @ Health Catalyst Jan 2021 – Jan 2022 | Boston, Massachusetts, United States ### Bioinformatics Data Engineer @ Health Catalyst Jan 2020 – Jan 2021 | Cambridge, Massachusetts, United States ### Bioinformatician @ Boston University School of Medicine Jan 2013 – Jan 2019 ## Education ### Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Bioinformatics Boston University ### Bachelor's degree in Genetics University of Wisconsin-Madison ### Bachelor's degree in Computer Science University of Wisconsin-Madison ## Contact & Social - LinkedIn: https://linkedin.com/in/daniel-lancour-phd-9982a619a --- Source: https://flows.cv/daniellancourphd JSON Resume: https://flows.cv/daniellancourphd/resume.json Last updated: 2026-03-31
