# Daniel Perez > Software Engineer at nuQLeus Location: New York City Metropolitan Area, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/danielperez I’m a software developer with an avid interest in utilizing interesting technology, working with intelligent autonomous engineers, and celebrating after solving a hard to trace bug. My current interest is in web development and open source with a strong focus in React, Redux, Node, Express, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL. My most recent open source work is being a member of nuQLeus, a developer tool for graphQL resolver performance tracing, created by a small group of talented and incredible engineers. I also have a growing interest in writing and talking about tech, including my recent talk on Microservices in the SingleSprout Speaker Series, and my article about my team’s devtool, nuQLeus, titled “Tap Into GraphQL Resolver-Level Performance Metrics with nuQLeus” which you can find on Medium. Outside of Coding, I enjoy playing video games, learning about fields outside of STEM like art and music, and watching video content on youtube and twitch. https://github.com/Daniel-P3 ## Work Experience ### Software Engineer @ nuQLeus Jan 2020 – Present • Bundled code with Webpack to allow javascript to run on the browser while being modular, maintainable, and readable and bundled a devtool codebase as an npm package to serve as a function wrapper for user created graphQL schemas • Constructed server side graphql to easily query, and mutate data as see fits, and test the underlying resolvers with tracing technology to monitor underlying performance • Refactored Codebase backend in Typescript for strict types so errors could be seen in development rather than in runtime in order to reduce bugs, and keep future scalability of nuQLeus in mind • Applied Frontend code splitting, gzip compression, and lazy loading optimization techniques to keep project lightweight in usage • Used Websocket protocol based Graphql Subscriptions to give clients real time updated data upon subscription • Designed backend graphQL tests with jest to ensure the functionality of nuQLeus with future pull requests and features • Successfully worked as a Scrum master in a team of engineers, applying Agile development to quicken the pace of production • Used D3 and Victory to Design visually appealing animated data to reveal performance metric statistics ### Open Source @ Open Source Jan 2020 – Present TypeQuest | Web Text Adventure - Configured Typescript  to help the debugging process during development time by forcing strict typing on javascript code and used babel to compile react into ES5 code that can safely work on any browser without breaking the app - Weighed options for the appropriate JS framework and state management option, given the scope of the project, that being react along with react hooks and context API for a smooth state management experience for a project that doesn’t need the girth or boilerplating of redux - Utilized the world’s biggest version control software and github to make team development simple and effective ### Open Source Developer @ Open Source Jan 2020 – Present Inter-Views | Interview Metric Conversion App - Utilized React Router  to create a component based approach to routing between parts of the frontend website and used react components for clean abstraction and modularity - Planned and constructed a system design for a project with digital whiteboard software as the scrum master in a team of engineers - Used data visualization technology to model conversion rate of successful interviews into a graph for easy visibility ### Open Source @ Open Source Jan 2020 – Present CS-Scholarship-Funds | funding scholarships for those less fortunate - Employed HTTP protocol to manage the deployment of user's financial assets to a central organization providing coding scholarships and Implemented OAuth 2.0 to streamline the process of account creation for browsing users - Deployed Express to design CRUD function operations with modularized API routes using the popular MVC design pattern and Implemented PostgreSQL to store sensitive information with strict ACID compliance ## Education ### Manhattan University ## Contact & Social - LinkedIn: https://linkedin.com/in/daniel-p3 - GitHub: https://github.com/Daniel-p3 --- Source: https://flows.cv/danielperez JSON Resume: https://flows.cv/danielperez/resume.json Last updated: 2026-04-13
