# David D. > Electrician (T108949) | Precision Conduit Bending & Motor Controls | Former Product Designer Applying Design Thinking to the Electrical Trade Location: San Francisco Bay Area, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/davidd2 I am an Electrician (T108949) who takes pride in doing solid, honest work. I grew up around the trades through my dad, and I always admired the craftsmanship and discipline that go into doing the job the right way. Before becoming an electrician, I spent about 10 years as a Product Designer. I enjoyed the creative part of that work, and I loved seeing my ideas come to life in digital form. Over time, I realized I wanted something more hands-on. I wanted to build things I could see and touch in the real world, so I made the decision to pursue the electrical trade. I am now finishing my training at IBT in Santa Clara and graduating in January. My background in design has helped me a lot. It taught me how to think in systems, stay detail-oriented, and solve problems with a calm, clear approach. All of that carries directly into electrical work. What keeps me motivated every day is my family. I am building a stable future for my wife and our one-year-old son, and that purpose keeps me grounded and focused. I am excited to join a team where I can learn, work hard, and grow in this trade. ## Work Experience ### Electrician Student @ Institute for Business and Technology Jan 2025 – Present | Santa Clara County, CA • Gaining hands-on experience with EMT conduit bending, routing, and installation • Learning motor controls, including basic wiring, starters, and control circuits • Assisting with electrical system installation, wiring, and troubleshooting • Following NEC code and job site safety standards • Reading and interpreting blueprints and electrical diagrams • Using hand and power tools safely and efficiently on job sites • Supporting electricians on residential and commercial projects • Developing strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail • Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively in team environments • Committed to continuous learning and growth toward becoming a journeyman electrician ### Product Designer, Checkout 51 @ Quotient Technology Inc.
