# David Esses > Robotics Engineer | Ex-GNC Engineering Intern @ SpaceX | Masters in Mechanical Engineering at Boston University Location: Brooklyn, New York, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/davidesses I am an avid problem solver looking to make a positive impact on humanity. Currently I am tackling the century old garment manufacturing industry where unstructured fabrics made automation prohibitively difficult. I obtained my Master's degree from Boston University in Mechanical Engineering, where I actively expanded my expertise in dynamic systems and controls. I graduated Binghamton University with a Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering and was heavily involved in Binghamton Motorsports FSAE where I developed the team's first two aerodynamic packages. As a former GNC engineering intern at SpaceX working on Starship aerodynamics my interest in how aerodynamics effect vehicle performance increased significantly. Now, I am currently pursuing a role as a GNC engineer where I can apply my knowledge of aerodynamics and vehicle dynamics to bridge the gap between aerodynamics and controls to make things fly. To date GNC related projects I've worked on include convex optimization for planetary soft landings, optimal control of a quadrotor using LQR and developing a 6-DOF model of fixed wing aircraft in MATLAB/Simulink. ## Work Experience ### Robotics Engineer - Robotic Software and Control @ silana Jan 2025 – Present | New York City Metropolitan Area Developing robotic software and control algorithms to revolutionize the fashion industry. Integrating sensors, computer vision and PLC communication in ROS2 to autonomously sew clothing with millimeter precision.
