This was to accommodate for prior computation issues that failed to account for self-loops in the medial graph and assumed that the boundaries generated by a carving decomposition were simple. • My colleague and I then utilized these two algorithms in our second semester to generate and validate solutions to different planar graphs in our efforts to improve the accuracy of the algorithm and scale the algorithm for larger and larger graphs. • The project was developed in C++17, tested using Catch, and profiled using perf. ### Teaching Assistant: CS1470 Deep Learning @ Brown University Jan 2019 – Jan 2019 | Providence, Rhode Island Area • Worked on developing the assignment for Convolutional Neural Networks by implementing 2D/3D convolution in Python, and provided the framework to allow students to integrate their convolution code in a TensorFlow model. • Responsible for explaining course concepts during office hours, helping students debug their code, and maintenance of the auto-grading script for students throughout the semester. ### Technology Summer Analyst - Core Engineering @ Goldman Sachs Jan 2019 – Jan 2019 | Manhattan, New York • Increased maintainability of the firm-wide deployment monitoring application by implementing the backend of a new application using REST endpoints instead of Websockets, thus decreasing the codebase by ~30%. Utilized Java8, RxJava, Spring Boot, Maven, and Nimbus IaaS. • Consolidated configuration files for the same application by ~65% by utilizing YAML and Apache FreeMarker to auto-generate health-check endpoints. • Designed multiple web-pages for the new application by utilizing an in-house tool. Held meetings with clients of the application to iteratively build the frontend with full-time analysts in React, Typescript, HTML, and CSS. ### Software Engineering Intern @ Apex Capital Corp Jan 2018 – Jan 2018 | Dallas/Fort Worth Area • Utilized the JIRA system to debug and upgrade company software given requests from non-technical software operators utilizing Java, SQL, MyBatis, and Struts2. • Helped create company invoice file/image storage system (full stack) allowing them to end a contract with a 3rd party storage provider using Java, C++, Spring Boot, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS. ### Supervisor of Intramural Sports @ Brown University Jan 2017 – Jan 2018 | Providence, Rhode Island Area - Worked with other supervisors to manage the scheduling and training of 30+ referees across soccer and basketball. - Responsible for the set-up, management, and tear-down of court/field space during games multiple days per week. ### Software Engineering Intern @ Apex Capital Corp Jan 2017 – Jan 2017 | Dallas/Fort Worth Area • Designed the UI and front-end for an accounting web application using HTML, CSS, Typescript and Angular frameworks. • Designed the back-end of the same web application using JavaEE and Oracle frameworks. • Utilized RESTful web practices while creating and connecting the front and back-end for a web application from start to finish. ## Education ### Bachelor of Science - BS in Computer Science Brown University Jan 2016 – Jan 2020 ## Contact & Social - LinkedIn: https://linkedin.com/in/david-oyeka-9ab3bb129 --- Source: https://flows.cv/davidoyeka JSON Resume: https://flows.cv/davidoyeka/resume.json Last updated: 2026-03-20
