I've helped design and build software systems spanning browser-based clients, web services, distributed systems, operating system software, kernel drivers, and device firmware.  I've focused on making software operable in production, especially by building tools to debug production software.  I give talks, blog, and write docs to educate about debugging and operating Node in production.

At Joyent, I've helped lead development on several distributed systems, including the Manta object store and the Cloud Analytics service.  I developed widely-used tooling for debugging Node.js programs both postmortem and using DTrace, with a focus on production systems.  I've drawn on this experience to help put together Joyent's documentation and best practices for Node.js, including best practices for error handling and operating Node in production.
