Joined Moka5 (a.k.a. MokaFive) in Redwood City, CA, to help develop their Ubuntu Linux-based "BareMetal" virtualization platform. Moka5 technology let customers deploy enterprise desktops as highly-secure, locally-running but remotely administered virtual machines. This improved performance over VDI solutions and allowed offline use. Policies could assure workspaces are regularly updated and professionally managed. Moka5 VMs, known as "LivePCs," can be "played" (i.e., run) on Windows, MacOS, or their "BareMetal" environment, which appears to merely boot the LivePC.

Their tagline: "Enterprise AnyWare™ for the Everywhere Enterprise."

Moka5 has closed up shop, despite a working product and happy customers.

In VMware's "Server-hosted Desktop" department: Ported Linux PC-over-IP codec (decompression) from x86 to ARM clients. Ported Virtual Channel software from Windows to Linux. Managed bug backlog, codifying bug handling on Wiki page, and represented development team to product team.
