These ten weeks allowed me to experience the design process in a research setting, teaching me new skills such as creating and implementing experimental methods which included custom manufacturing of phantom tissues and the use of robotic needle insertion and ultrasound imaging. I also gained experience with Solidworks simulation software and animation features. Our work culminated in a research paper Tom and I collaborated on that was eventually published in the IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation. ### Financial Analyst @ Luminous Capital Jan 2011 – Jan 2011 | Menlo Park, CA My role at Luminous primarily involved conducting quantitative and qualitative research on potential new investments and current investment holdings. I collected and analyzed data using Morningstar and Bloomberg, and many times presented my findings to analysts and partners. I also created and managed Excel spreadsheets, including master client lists for partners and client asset allocation sheets. ### Branch Manager @ Ivy Insiders Jan 2010 – Jan 2010 As an Ivy Insiders Branch Manager, I was responsible for running my own branch of the company in my hometown of Thousand Oaks, including operations, logistics, and implementation of marketing and sales strategy. I also was responsible for delivering the company products I was marketing and selling, and so I taught an SAT course with 20 high school students as well as provided individual one-on-one tutoring sessions. I drove over $21,000 in revenue, which was 11th highest out of the 300+ Ivy Insiders Branch Managers around the country. A part of this success can be attributed to an effective sales and marketing plan that I created and executed based on the competitive landscape and customer demographic assessment.
