Software Engineer for one of the leaders in online education for IT Professionals.  My initial role was focused on maintaining the collection of Serverless Lambdas and RESTful APIs that supported their Billing and GDPR compliance systems in a Node, JavaScript, TypeScript stack connecting to DynamoDB with API Gateway in front. Eventually I transitioned to the team in charge of revamping the application used for creating courses.  This was primarily front-end work using React, JavaScript and Node under a micro-frontend architecture.

### Software Engineer @ A Cloud Guru | A Pluralsight Company
Jan 2019 – Jan 2021 | Austin, Texas, United States
Software Developer for a premier cloud training platform specializing in courses and hands-on labs for Cloud professionals. Initially a Full-Stack Ruby on Rails developer, my role eventually shifted to working on AWS Lambdas in their Serverless Cloud Environment. The AWS stack consisted of Lambdas written mostly with Node, JavaScript and TypeScript, fronted by API Gateway and backed by Amazon DynamoDB. Frequent use of the Serverless Framework development tools for local development and ease of deployment with CloudFormation. CI/CD tools included Travis CI, Jenkins, Git, GitHub, GitLab. Interesting projects included occasional opportunities to write Python scripts for managing corporate user data as well as frequent integration with 3rd party APIs like ChargeBee, Stripe and their GDPR Compliance services.

Backend Ruby on Rails developer for a top-tier provider of online training for IT professionals. The technology stack at Linux Academy was AWS Based, running in Docker containers on EC2 instances and was comprised of Ruby on Rails, SideKiq, Redis and Active Record backed by MySQL.  Interesting projects included occasional work on the customer facing front-end apps using Node and Angular as well as work on their next-gen website which aimed to gamify the IT learning experience.

### Software Engineer @ FOCUS
Jan 2011 – Jan 2017 | Sarasota, Florida, United States
Ruby on Rails development for a provider of SAAS services in the home insurance space.  Technology stack at Focus included Ruby on Rails, Backbone.js, jQuery and Active Resource for consuming from external REST APIs. RSpec and Jasmine were used for unit testing.  Interesting projects at Focus included the creation of custom Ruby Gems to support higher code consistency within our apps, and serving as development lead in creating a suite of Ruby scripts to manage migration from their legacy IBM based SDLC system into Jira and Confluence as part of a company-wide pivot to Agile Kanban.
