Orders proceed through several steps such as reviewing the facility requirements, contacting the location for planing and scheduling, surveying the site for the new connection, planning the circuit design for inside the new facility and several potential sub tasks for each stage. Verizon engineers are responsible for managing multiple orders, which includes keeping track of the order details and which stages the order is in and has been through. The goal of the CoFee Engineering UI is to streamline and partially automate the order process for the engineers where possible, who previously kept track of some of these details by hand. ### Student Researcher @ Worcester Polytechnic Institute Jan 2017 – Jan 2018 | Worcester, Massachusetts With Professor Emanuel Agu and two other students, worked on a Major Qualifying Project (MQP). The MQP is a project and research opportunity performed by senior students on a subject that falls within their major. We worked with the Funf library to create an app which gathers data from users and passes it to a neural network generated with TensorFlow- a deep learning library- to determine whether or not the current behavior of the user matches the behavior seen previously well enough to not require authentication to use the device. ### Student Researcher @ Worcester Polytechnic Institute Jan 2016 – Jan 2017 | Worcester, Massachusetts With Dean Kent Rismiller at WPI, worked with two other students on an Interdisciplinary Qualifying Project (IQP). The IQP is a research opportunity performed by students in their junior year on a subject of their choice. The topic of the research was Applications of Biomass Fuels. Over the course of the project we interviewed companies who produce bio-diesel and run anaerobic digestors to generate power off of waste material. The project was meant to propose and encourage new ways for energy producers to meet renewable energy mandates. ## Education ### Bachelor's degree in Computer Science Worcester Polytechnic Institute ## Contact & Social - LinkedIn: https://linkedin.com/in/derrek-rueger-00014516a --- Source: https://flows.cv/derrek JSON Resume: https://flows.cv/derrek/resume.json Last updated: 2026-04-13
