• Led improvements for Checkr sign up flow, successfully improving activation rate by wide margins
• Advocated for and led upgrade efforts for several applications on older React/npm versions, and created a migration
path to use modern best practices
• Defined guidelines for new feature development in a server side rendered admin interface, enabling modern best
practices to be used in a legacy ruby on rails application
• Architected new implementation for the core Checkr background check order product, optimizing for efficient development with multiple engineers, allowing the product to be delivered on an accelerated schedule and resulting in a large expansion of revenue acquired through the UI flow.
• Volunteered in the Engineering Learning Work Group, to support several new initiatives that facilitated continuing education across the engineering org.
• Implemented upgrades to the end to end testing pipeline and docker containers, enabling better observability and debugging of end to end tests
• Led several org/company wide initiatives to improve testing best practices with tools like React Testing Library, MSW, and Cypress
• Spent several months exclusively mentoring/pair programming at the request of EM and PM in order to ramp up junior engineers
