The new index's were made to display more detailed maps and easy to identify individual photograph numbers. I spent the summer digitizing aerial photographs in order to upload updated index's to the UCSC's library archives website. I used ESRI's basemaps and the ArcGis program to complete a digitization. Python was also used to create queries. I designed a template for UCSC's library to use for future index maps. I also created a set of instructions written in layman's terms that was to be used in conjunction with the template for ease of future digitizing.
