As an Engineer Department Assistant, I take a leading role in managing our facility and supporting the daily needs of engineering students and faculty. Recently, a major focus of my work has been coordinating our department relocation to a brand new building. I managed the safe transfer of delicate engineering machinery and made sure the new lab space was set up perfectly without any equipment damage.
On a daily basis, I work closely with professors to ensure smooth lab instruction. I prepare and organize all the necessary materials for core classes, specifically Engineering 10, 11, 21, and 43. It is my responsibility to make sure students have exactly what they need the moment they walk into the lab.
I also handle the deep mechanical repairs and advanced calibration for our 3D printers. By keeping these machines in top condition, I help maximize their lifespan and keep replacement costs low for the college. Finally, I maintain strict cleaning and organization standards across the entire workspace to provide a safe and productive environment for everyone who uses the makerspace.
