BNG-CUPS (Broadband Network Gateway - Control Plane User Plane Separation)

+ Designed and developed the linux container which acts as the CP (control plane).

+ Implemented the cloud UI for the control plane such that it mimics the physical Junos RE (routing-engine).

+ Created provisions for the CP-UP communication.

+ Automated the complete build, run and execution cycle of the container.

+ Worked with the system test team to setup their cloud test infrastructure.

+ Created support to have separate CP and UP packages.

+ Provide continuous support for the containerized control plane.

+ Working on providing Kubernetes support for the CUPS project.

Protocols Team:

+ Worked on the development and bug fixing of Broadband Network Gateway (BNG) protocols (like DHCPv4/v6, PPP, etc.)

+ Design and implementation of IP Pool Bot (IPB), a Linux container-based application that manages a collection of IP prefixes for a set of network entities.

+ Developed an API to drive the Packet Forwarding Engine (PFE) in the data plane for the next-gen core routers.

+ Worked on developing an application software, based on a publish-subscribe model using Modern C++, which provides an adaptation layer between the configuration component and the underlying infrastructure.

Support Automation Team:

Working as an engineer for the Automation team, I was able to develop and contribute to several Automation projects, such as:

+ Automated data collection tool for Juniper Platforms, a Node.js based containerized micro-service model that uses Routed RPC (Netconf protocol) & Publish-Subscribe messaging.

+ Containerized web-application to drive the data collection tool.

+ Maintenance Window Monitor which is a Node.js based containerized solution for monitoring operator actions on a device and providing an audit trail in case of an error.

+ Implemented SLAX scripts to identify the Maintenance Windows on JUNOS devices.

+ Automated Outage Detection container, which processes data from the devices to analyze traffic patterns and detect outages.

+ Designed and implemented a resiliency feature to automatically set configurations on JUNOS devices.

+ Created a custom Virtual Machine which runs scripts to manage micro-service containers.

+ Developed the Virtual Machine such that it automatically updates the containers and scripts from Artifactory repositories.

+Developed an Amazon Echo(Alexa) custom skill certified by Amazon which is now available to the users.

+The skill is a web application which provides cloud service support for the devices to interact with Amazon Echo (Alexa).

+Tested all the web services by running it on a separate AWS cloud.

+Design, develop and maintain 'deviceJS' applications for devices interacting over low power wireless network protocols (like, Wifi, zigbee, 6LoWPAN, zwave, BLE).

+Modifying these low power wireless network protocols to achieve interoperability.

+Created support for various zigbee devices to onboard them directly onto the wigwag relay without their respective hubs.

+Implemented device controllers for these zigbee devices.
