# Doğaç E. > Master's Student @ Northwestern University | Software Engineer Location: Greater Chicago Area, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/doa I am a senior software engineer with deep expertise on building scalable infrastructure and software. I have expertise in system-wide architecture as well as low-level frameworks and tooling. I've led the development of key systems, including web APIs, authentication and authorization platforms, microservice architecture, CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure and observability tools. I am passionate about contributing to the open-source community, focusing on enhancing developer tools and frameworks. Notably, I actively contribute to the Armeria framework, a Netty-based microservice framework, as well as developing my own open-source projects. Through these efforts, I demonstrate my commitment to advancing technology and supporting the developer community. I enjoy collaborating with engineering teams to build solutions that enhance developer productivity and tooling while achieving business goals. My goal is to design robust systems that empower teams to deliver with confidence. Looking ahead, I aim to take on leadership roles, explore diverse industry practices, and create impactful projects with measurable results. ## Work Experience ### Senior Software Engineer @ Carbon Health Jan 2024 – Jan 2025 | Greater Chicago Area • Responsible for upgrading and maintaining core tools such as our company’s entire JVM dependency catalog, gradle build scripts for our entire service stack, internal terraform modules for microservices, queues, alerts and lambdas, Apache Airflow for cron jobs and many more internal services. • Designed the pipeline for an LLM-based AI to automatically respond to patient messages, schedule appointments, assign tasks and later implemented together with the Data Science team. • Migrated our built-in authorization and authentication solutions to the industry standard using OAuth2 and AWS Cognito with zero downtime. • Design and implement tools, libraries and frameworks to be used for resolving authorization decision in our distributed system with complex authorization decisions with low latency. • Work with SaaS customers to seamlessly integrate into their own IdPs using real-time synchronization using web hooks and SCIM protocol over SAML. ### Software Engineer II @ Carbon Health Jan 2020 – Jan 2024 | Greater Chicago Area • Developing and improving tools to be developer-friendly. • Migrated core business over 50+ tables and 100+ gRPC endpoints with 0 downtime from monolith to microservices. • Remodeling top 3 biggest tables in the company with over 200M+ rows with challenges such as query performance optimizations, back-filling and processing within a reasonable time-frame. • Developed one of the first micro-services in the company using Kotlin with Armeria framework using gRPC and protobuf. Used Koin for DI and Exposed as ORM and deployed with Terraform and GitHub Actions. • Used React-Native with Redux + Apollo on the frontend to build frontend and Netflix DGS for GraphQL to build backend. ### Software Engineer Intern @ Redgate Software Jan 2019 – Jan 2019 | Cambridge, United Kingdom Worked as a full-stack developer using React and C# inside the SQL Clone product team in a team of 8. ## Education ### Master of Science - MS in Computer Science Northwestern University ### Bachelor of Science - BS in Computer Science Bilkent University ## Contact & Social - LinkedIn: https://linkedin.com/in/dogacel --- Source: https://flows.cv/doa JSON Resume: https://flows.cv/doa/resume.json Last updated: 2026-03-30
