# Drew Ambrose > Senior Full-stack Software Engineer & UX/UI Designer at Comcast Location: Denver Metropolitan Area, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/drewambrose Senior Software Engineer/Designer IV I work for Comcast, full-stack, Angular/Java/NodeJS -large data apps. I previously worked for IBM, contracting for CenturyLink as the lead developer. I had previously been with the CenturyLink for over 15 years, but during this time the company had been through two mergers, first as US West and Qwest, and second with Qwest and CenturyLink. My role has been a lead software engineer since 1999 with progressive responsibilities. For several years I worked on and lead US West, and Qwest e-commerce applications for telecommunications with a focus on cellular phones and service. I created and worked on My Account, the profile management application for customers to manage their phones and services. I currently work at IBM as a Mobile Internet Architect, and Lead Developer. I moved into Large Business systems with CenturyLink with a focus on Large Business Account Management. We built a customer portal application with WebLogic Portal using Shared Libraries with REST services, and RIAs. I created the application in Flex, not expecting Flex to fade out anytime soon. After it was clear the HTML5 would better serve us and the devices we wanted to deploy to we started to change these Flex apps and convert them to HTML5, using Responsive Design so that we could port these to mobile devices. I have designed and developed software on many side projects using MVC based JavaScript applications for several industries, such as back health, banking and credit card payments, to administration consoles for small business and CRM. Most of these I built from scratch, and crafted the design and architecture as well as the back end services with Java or .Net. My current focus is in JavaScript, HTML5, RWD, Mobile Applications, iOS, Flex, Java, BAAS, JSON, social networking, and MVC frameworks, such as AngularJS and Backbone, and Design. I remain a lead software engineer at CenturyLink with the respect of all my peers and developers. I am looking to engage in greater areas of my field using the latest technologies. ## Work Experience ### Owner @ Independent Jan 2025 – Present Built 4 iOS apps, Swift6, supports 21 languages, AI, Cloud Functions backbone. ### Senior Software Engineer & UX/UI Designer @ Comcast Technology Solutions Jan 2017 – Present | Englewood, Colorado, United States ### Angular Enterprise Fullstack Engineer and UI/UX Designer @ Comcast Jan 2017 – Present | Greater Denver Area ### Full Stack Engineer @ Comcast Jan 2018 – Present | Denver, Colorado ### Lead Software Engineer and Mobile Architect @ IBM Jan 2015 – Present | Denver, Colorado Leading a team of web designers and developers on the CenturyLink Large Business and Enterprise web applications for IBM. It is my willing servitude to finding solutions and thinking about greater, smarter creative solutions like we see in nature. For instance, designing a software solution on the basis of the generics we discover in nature, and see in the function of the brain gives us a glimpse into a far superior systems. The intrigue of what I see makes me curious, and gives me an endless inspiration to discover. Business Purpose Give the Power of an Enterprise to Small Business to allow focus on What They Do Best. The main goal and focus of our business is to simplify all processes and tasks in Small Business. This is Why I solve problems, and see solutions everywhere. I want to share these with those who need them. There are so many solutions available to Small Business, but the problem is that they all host and take ownership of the data they collect. I believe this data solely belongs to the business, and should be centralized - and not spread across all the tools the business uses. This means that all services must be built with integrations and APIs from the start, with an extendable infrastructure. All of this should have integrity management that extends integration hooks while validating, preserving services. I have in fact built so many things it seem ridiculous to iterate though them all. Some of them are XML Database with a Cache Search, Generics Portal and Shopping Cart Designer, Writing Applications, RSS merged content, Profiling Sites, AI Chat applications, System Tracking Applications, Administrative Portals, Data-Extendability, CRM, Appointments and Scheduling, Versioning, Business Engines, SQL Data Builders, and much more. When there is a need for a tool the design becomes a hobby. ### Seinoir Software Engineer @ EchoStar Corporation Jan 2016 – Jan 2017 ### Lead Software Engineer @ CenturyLink Jan 1999 – Jan 2015 | Littleton, CO I worked for CenturyLink for over 15 years, but during this time the company had been through two mergers, first with US West and Qwest, and second with Qwest and CenturyLink. With my current IBM contract I still do work with CenturyLink. Lead Software Engineer, CenturyLink; Denver/Littleton, Colorado Large Business Portal: This is a two part application. The primary part of the application is a customer portal where our large business clients, such as Wellsfargo, manage their networks and voice lines across all locations - we call this PostSales. PostSales uses WebLogic Portal, built with a multitude of components I designed including many reusable Flex components of which I connect to Web Services and other data sources that enable many common processes, such as managing repair tickets, creating Toll Free numbers, monitoring networks, etc. I rewrote Bea WebLogic Components for RIA interface and Session Management and Request Scope containers which Oracle now includes in their frameworks for Portlets and Dynamic ajax implementations in portal applications. I wrote Qwajax.js for Qwest, an AJAX framework that the billing team still uses today to incorporate bills for all products for customers from a multitude of systems. The other part of the application is a simple, straight forward Apache Tomcat web application proxied via Apache web servers, using an Oracle database, and a CMS mounted file system we designed. (More specifically, it is JBOSS-EWS which is basically RedHat’s bundled/supported version of Tomcat.) Its purpose is to draw in new customers and provide product information. We use SalesForce and Omniture for sales tracking. We call this PreSales. ### Lead Web Designer/Developer @ CenturyLink Jan 1999 – Jan 2015 | Golden, Colorado I joined US West in 1999 to redesign the entire Web site for US West Wireless. After six weeks of intense effort I completed it, tested it and deployed it. Within the first two weeks the site had increased sales 600%. After this I had been tasked to maintain it and redesign the Intranet. The company purchased Vignette Story Server. I designed the new site in Story Server and trained users how to use it and maintained that as well. The company next wished to expand an extranet site to external retail stores such as Best Buy, CompUSA and others to sell wireless phones and activate these phones before they left the store. I designed this for the company and maintained this as well. This site had 3000 sales per month, including business sales which were much larger orders. ### Software Developer/Designer @ TeleSpine Jan 2014 – Jan 2014 | Boulder, CO This is a side job I had worked off regular hours.
