Senior Principal Mechanical Product Design Engineer
· Mechanical design and new product development of Enovix lithium-ion battery for wearable, mobile, and industrial applications. Support the product development team to develop and deliver the batteries for phone and headset.
· Design and ownership multiple components and systems end to end Enovix cell, such as sheet metal constraint, electrodes, battery pouch, & ect. Debug battery mechanical failures in testing and collaborate with cross functional teams to create engineering solutions.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams from factory manufacturing to mechanical designing teams to improve and update the battery design rules of the current generation Enovix cell.
· Use Teamcenter, Solidworks 2021, GD&T, DriveWorks, and tolerance analysis to design mechanical 2&3D parts and assemblies of Enovix cell. Prepare full battery drawings for customers and factories.
· Provide supports for bringing up Enovix factory and R&D in Penang, Malaysia. Such as, establishing best practices of mechanical processes and part numbers creation, prepare mechanical drawings and processes for pilot assembly line, & be available late night to provide instructions and trainings.
· Communicate regularly with Enovix, Penang teams to provide mechanical trainings to new team members, such as Teamcenter & CAD.

Staff Mechanical Design Engineer
· Involved in mechanical designs and improvements of various components and assemblies inside aircraft V-bat, such as organized cables in mid-fuse & modified carbon fiber composite parts.
· Worked with cross functional teams to make engineering changes (ECO’s) and improvements for ground control systems. Collected and documented the engineering changes to submit to customers.
· Ownership of multiple wiring harness designs, lithium battery, plastic injection molding parts, and heater designs. Designed these parts from concepts, prototypes, tests, & applied into Vbat.
· Used Arena, Solidworks 2021, Unigraphics NX, Teamcenter, Rapid Harness, GD&T Y14.5, and tolerance analysis to design mechanical geometries of parts and sub-assemblies, such as worked on composite housings 2&3d & fixed the existing mechanical designs.
· Communicated regularly with internal cross functional teams to build wiring harness, mechanical assemblies (DFA), reliability testing, such as ordered cables, connectors, mechanical components followed Mils specification, before implementing the designs & changes into Vbat’s system.
· Self studies electro-mechanical components and the electrical connections inside aircraft to effectively support mechanical design and internal teams questions.

Senior Mechanical Product Design Engineer (home robot products)
· Designed, developed, & owned mechanical and electro-mechanical parts/assemblies for home robot products. Involved in mechanical design, development, and delivery of the Astro robot (2022).
· Architected the Astro robot’s display sub-assembly (DFA) and owned mechanical structures for pairs of stereo cameras, and mechanical sub-assemblies of other safety sensors.
· Owned mechanical designs of multiple sub-assemblies and worked closely with cross-functional teams to meet design requirements and challenges. Resolved light leaking into cameras, designed thermal heatsink and designed for injection molding complex geometries of optical cliff sensors.
· Participated in mechanical architecture ideas within mechanical team, provide feedback in design reviews for other sub-assemblies (DFA), designed for manufacturing (DFM) and automations, so each sub-assembly could be tested and verified at manufacturing and assembling partners’ sites.
· Virtually debugged and closed mechanical issues at factory to unlock assembly line shut-down. Resolved last minute mechanical issues before the product launching.
· Worked on tolerance analysis of several critical modules, such as TA for the optical cliff detector sensors.
Sr Mechanical Product Design (Tablets, Ereaders, & Echo)
· Conceptualized, designed, and built prototype for new generation products. It was fast-paced product development from initial concept to production. The products met ID design intents and product quality.
· Involved in reviewing FEA simulation results, thermal simulate studies, and manufacturing/automation capabilities (DFM). From these studies, made decisions to continue or change mechanical designs. Evaluated these engineering changes to fit with build schedules.
· Analyzed mechanical failures in reliability testing results and proposed multiple design concepts to fix or improve mechanical issues.
