# Dylan Camacho > Software Engineer at Costar Group Location: Los Angeles Metropolitan Area, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/dylancamacho 𝗖𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸 I’m currently a Software Engineer at CoStar Group, contributing to their large-scale online real estate platforms, including Homes.com and Apartments.com. I interned twice with CoStar before joining full-time as an associate and was later promoted to a mid-level position. I develop features that scale to millions of users while balancing performance and user experience. Some of my recent projects include refactoring the sitewide favoriting system to reduce implementation complexity, overhauling the leads emailing systems with geographic and machine learning insights, and expanding the favorites dashboard to handle more entity types while incorporating new dynamic maps and filters. 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 I graduated from Harvey Mudd College in 2024 with a joint degree in Mathematics and Computer Science. Noteworthy coursework includes machine learning, robotics, computability and logic, algorithms, operating systems, real analysis, abstract algebra, linear algebra, multivariable calculus, differential equations, statistics, and discrete mathematics. I graded and tutored multiple computer science courses and worked as an IT technical assistant, building, configuring, and fixing computers across campus. In the spring semester of my junior year, I studied abroad at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, which helped broaden my cultural perspective. 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 During my senior year at Harvey Mudd, I had the opportunity to conduct AI research for NASA Ames Research Center. As part of a NASA Ames research team, I designed and built a benchmarking application for automatic speech recognition systems. The framework we created provided scientists with a reliable way to evaluate commercial and open-source speech-to-text models across different environments and mission scenarios. These evaluations would ensure the most effective model could be deployed for mission-critical communications. 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀 I work primarily in Python, C#, C++, C, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, Git, Bash, and SQL, with experience across the stack using frameworks like React, Vue, and PyTorch. I’m also familiar with cloud and infrastructure tools, including Snowflake, AWS, Datadog, and Azure, and have had exposure to R, MATLAB, Haskell, Lisp, Prolog, Assembly, Docker, OpenCV, and Kubernetes. Revamped Homes.com and Apartments.com leads emailing system, injecting geographic data and machine learning insights into emails sent millions of times per month. Expanded favorites dashboard to include twice as many entity types and built a new dynamic map UI with optimized fetching, sorting, and data aggregation. ### ASR Clinic Researcher @ NASA Ames Research Center Jan 2023 – Jan 2024 | Mountain View, California, United States Conducted NASA-sponsored research on automatic speech recognition systems in coordination with their scientists to further agency-wide AI integration. Led the design and construction of a recognition evaluation application to assess a diverse range of open-source and commercial speech-to-text models. Empowered NASA teams with a reliable benchmarking tool for comprehensive precision analysis, facilitating environment-specific model selection. ### Software Engineer Intern @ CoStar Group Jan 2023 – Jan 2023 | Irvine, California, United States Created an internal tool allowing agents and developers to search by key/ID/address, find non-standard property info, and share notes about properties. Collaborated with cross-functional product, design, and QA teams to ensure seamless integration of new localization, search, and weather features. ### Software Engineer Intern @ CoStar Group Jan 2022 – Jan 2022 | Irvine, California, United States Contributed as a full-stack engineer on the largest development team at Homes.com through its principal release, leveraging C#, Vue.js, MySQL, and .NET. Devised a solution to improve the transfer of designs and acceptance criteria, streamlining communications between product and developer teams. ### IT Technical Assistant @ Harvey Mudd College Jan 2021 – Jan 2022 | Claremont, California, United States Built, customized, and assembled personal computers for computer science labs and facilities, resolving technological issues and shortages across campus. Configured BIOS, installed operating systems, troubleshot software issues, managed user accounts, and automated the extraction of employee data. ### BWSI Racecar Course Teaching Assistant @ MIT Lincoln Laboratory Jan 2021 – Jan 2021 Served as a teaching assistant for MIT Lincoln Lab’s Beaver Works Summer Institute Racecar Course, fostering an environment of educational excellence. Instructed and guided students through the process of programming autonomous race cars in a virtual environment using Python and OpenCV. Taught computer vision fundamentals leveraging a C# unity-based simulator that emulated LiDARs, IMUs, color cameras, and depth sensors. ## Education ### Bachelor of Science - BS in Mathematics and Computer Science Harvey Mudd College ### Greenwich High School ## Contact & Social - LinkedIn: https://linkedin.com/in/dylan-camacho - Portfolio: https://dylancamacho.com --- Source: https://flows.cv/dylancamacho JSON Resume: https://flows.cv/dylancamacho/resume.json Last updated: 2026-03-31
