Our team employs an Agile development methodology. Each week, I'd work closely with teammates to adapt to changes in requirements and ensure that we've met our deliverables by the end of the sprint. I've automated unit testing using Mockito and Reflection frameworks, and developed services using a test driven and behavior driven development approach. I've deployed, tested, and supported services in a cloud environment. I've regularly tested and validated code to ensure project requirements are met and resolve any technical issues (bugs, errors, inaccuracies) that may arise in the process. I've also reviewed, refactored, and optimized code to improve performance. ### Junior Software Developer - JavaScript @ Call Box (CI) Jan 2017 – Jan 2018 | Dallas/Fort Worth Area I developed, updated, and optimized code (JavaScript and ColdFusion) to provide detailed performance analytics for clients in the automotive industry and medical field. I've developed a web page that seamlessly updates our phone number routing database to keep up with the rapid growth of the industries we service while also saving my coworkers countless hours that would have otherwise been consumed manually updating our database. I've automated the process of adding contact information to our database and developed the back-end functionality for our client managing interface. I also regularly investigate and resolve a wide variety of technical issues that arise as we maintain and expand our code base. ### Summer Research Intern @ Rice University Jan 2016 – Jan 2016 | Houston, Tx I collected data from the Houston Department of Transportation regarding the quality of bridges in the Houston area. This data was tabularized and organized using Microsoft Excel. This was done in order to create a mathematical model to predict bridge failure in the event of weather crisis using MATLAB. The model predicts the likelihood of bridge failure from a variety of risk factors, such as scouring, age, or soil composition. These risk factors were represented by percentages input into the model. My project consisted of improving upon an existing model by allowing it to accept data from a wide variety of bridge types and sizes. During this time, I developed proficiency in Logistic Regression Modeling. ### Summer Research Intern @ The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) Jan 2015 – Jan 2015 | Houston, Texas Area I Investigated drug resistance to the antibiotic Daptomycin in E. faecium bacteria by developing a LiaX deletion mutant strain of E. faecium bacteria in order to evaluate the mutant's response to Daptomycin. Mutation of the LiaX gene is associated with increased Daptomycin resistance in E. faecalis bacteria. Unlike the E. faecalis strain, E. faecium is not well studied and requires further investigation. Throughout the summer, I collaborated with several scientist to discover E. faecium's mechanism of drug resistance. I drafted an abstract and presented findings to a community of professors and peers. ### Summer Research Intern @ Rice University Jan 2014 – Jan 2014 | Houston, Texas Area I Investigated the use of genetically modified hemoglobin protein as a Hb-based oxygen carrier (HBOC) or blood substitute. A major barrier to using recombinant hemoglobin (rHb) as an HBOC is the low production yield when expressed in E. Coli. I adapted molecular cloning strategies such as PIPE, CPEC, and restriction enzyme digest to bind the pRHBOC heme receptor gene to the pHUG21 hemoglobin vector in order to maximize the efficiency of hemoglobin production. Throughout the course of this summer, I refined my presentation ability by attending communication seminars and presenting frequently at meetings and research symposiums. During the program's conclusion, I won the Rice University Summer Research Symposium poster presentation competition. ## Education ### Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering Rice University Jan 2013 – Jan 2017 ## Contact & Social - LinkedIn: https://linkedin.com/in/ebore-awano --- Source: https://flows.cv/ebore JSON Resume: https://flows.cv/ebore/resume.json Last updated: 2026-03-22
