At Netlify, I was the first engineer, and later technical lead, in the composable tooling and integrations space.

This ranged in scope from building out integrations with platforms such as PlanetScale and Auth0 by Okta, maintaining and expanding the critical Netlify CLI to building out a brand new SDK for extending the Netlify platform.

With negotiations with partners, talking SDKs at conferences, it was one of the most rewarding and propelling roles in my career, and one I look back on with pride.

Most importantly, I had the pleasure of growing the team from 0 to 7, working with some of the most talented, compassionate and motivated engineers I've had the pleasure of calling colleagues.

Joined as a full stack engineer, however quickly found preference leaning on the frontend with a passion to improve quality, reliability with the goal of rapidly improving the pace engineering could move at and deliver.

Started a regular discussion across frontend engineering to align on short-term initiatives in context of the longer term goal, picking up TypeScript and performance related issues while prioritising the developer experience.

Working with a great group of people to improve a product for customers, by improving our daily experience.

As a full stack engineer, I’ve had the opportunity to work on a huge variety of business domains, both front end and back end, to a high level of competence. Strong experience building microservices to power business logic, and utilising micro front end patterns to build performant and scalable web applications 

Was lead developer on customer facing authentication systems. Championing a migration from Azure B2C to Firebase to power customised, stylish and performant customer login and registration experiences.

Fresh out of sixth form, started a 6 month contract as a junior software engineer. Had the opportunity to work on a large scale digital transformation project working closely with business stakeholders to deliver high quality ASP.Net MVC applications with AGILE development practices. 

At the end of the contract, was offered a permanent position as a mid software engineer, rotating back to the core business intelligence team, working on a variety of applications for divisions such as Finance, Engineering and Business Operations. Built numerous applications in React, coupled with ASP.Net Core and SQL Server.
