My efforts have revolved around developing age-appropriate experiences, and here are a couple of key accomplishments: I spearheaded a global co-design program, engaging experts and individuals as collaborators in our design process. This approach empowered participants to actively contribute and ensured that our products align with their needs. This work was further strengthened through extensive engagement with Data Regulators, Civil Society, and Academic communities. You can learn more about this initiative here: https://www.ttclabs.net/news/our-approach-to-co-designing-with-teens-and-parents-guardians I played a pivotal role in developing a process at Meta to apply the principles of the UN's Convention on the Rights of the Child directly to our products and user experiences. We blended our internal research with insights from global data protection regulators to create Meta's Best Interests of the Child Framework. This framework distills the "best interests of the child" standard into six key considerations that guide our product teams throughout the development process. Learn more about this framework here: https://www.ttclabs.net/news/metas-best-interests-of-the-child-framework We created Family Center—an innovative platform designed to empower parents and guardians in providing online support to their teenagers. This platform offers a range of supervision tools and educational resources curated by leading experts. In its development, we adopted a co-design methodology in conjunction with comprehensive foundational research and usability testing. We launched products that increase access and performance in low-connectivity areas (slideshow, FB Lite ads) and incubated solutions for 'Cross Border Business,' 'Click to WhatsApp' and 'Lite Interfaces Monetization'. 2)The Local Ads team had the mission to drive foot traffic to local businesses through online advertising. This included developing a 'Store Visits' and 'Local Awareness/ Reach' objective for brick and mortar advertisers, developing ad creation tools specific to local businesses such as 'Get Directions CTA' and experimenting in geo-fencing, store visit measurement, Location Pages and more. 3) The Brand team had the mission to empower brands to reach and resonate with their audience and measurably drive their business. This included developing a 'Brand Awareness Objective,' a 'Reach Objective' and products that allowed Facebook advertisers to do "full funnel" advertising effectively including survey/polling. Large brand advertisers included broad brands (like P&G, Unilever, Ford), targeted brands (like Red Bull, BMW, Whole Foods), and Direct Response-first brands (like Netflix, Booking.com). Outside of Ads, through a collaboration with privacy policy we co-developed a program and platform to improve the user experience around personal data by bringing together users, policy makers, privacy experts and product creators – using design thinking and co-creation - to improve trust, transparency and control in digital products.
