Hey, I'm Ellen! I'm a software engineer from Canada currently living in the SF Bay Area. Computer science and design are two of my greatest passions, and I love channeling my enthusiasm for both through my work.

Worked on the Experimentation Platform team to build and maintain Robinhood's internal dynamic configuration and A/B testing platforms. Designed various large-scale projects to enhance the reliability and safety of the systems, such as targeted configuration rollout, S3 fallbacks and propagation layer re-architecture. Built full stack features for both platforms and led technical strategy to reduce manual analysis burden.

Worked on DORY, an encrypted search system with distributed trust. Helped implement the web server, web client and Android client to run benchmarks/tests. Configured AWS instances to test the system. Paper was accepted at OSDI 2020, the top conference in computer systems, and was well received.
