Assisted a variety of software and product startups with architecting, building, and scaling their front-ends. I learned a number of soft skills to supplement and better leverage my technical skills during this time, from managing stakeholder / executive expectations and accurately estimating tasks on tight deadlines to mentoring junior developers and making technical choices that prioritize the team and the end user and not just my personal preferences.
•Collaborated with stakeholders, design, and backend team at Ethyca to independently implement two front-end CRUD applications with a focus on enabling rapid development and seamless handoff to front-end engineering team
•Developed internal tooling projected to reduce brand launch time by up to 70%, including an automated Figma theme export plugin and component library for Harry’s design system
•Built greenfield marketing site and user portal on top of AWS microservices for a new ZipCar brand that is still in use today (Flexcar.com)
•Moved stagnated development back onto schedule by leading a team of three engineers in refactoring of nearly 80% of a codebase for Universal Media Group
•As the first front-end engineer to work with Higharc, rebuilt prototype web app to modernize application and provide a stable base for future development and assisted with onboarding front-end team
