Elly is a curious Landscape Architect, Urban Designer, and educator having worked across a variety of project types and scales, from large urban districts and mixed-use masterplans to large parks, waterfronts, and public spaces in both East Africa and the United States. His 8 years of experience have allowed him to grow and reflect on the notion of city-making, urbanism, and landscape architecture not only as acts of building and designing but as a medium of response, dialogue, and interaction with the built form, the people, and the community. Regardless of scale, there is a special commitment to the design of vibrant and dynamic spaces rooted in place and context. 

Currently, Elly is researching how urban land politics – in the form of collective property rights regimes, land use fiscalization, land use, and natural resource governance – shape climate vulnerability and adaptation responses in Africa and United States.

He holds a Master of City Planning with a focus on Urban Design and Transportation Planning from the University of California Berkeley. He also studied Landscape Architecture at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology in Kenya.

Elly was part of the design team that created revenue returns though developing real estate masterplan ,Landscape and public realm design projects at Lexicon+ion and Urban Green firms. In planning mixed-use nodes, he adopted revenue generation models centered around a holistic design approach that does not decimate the quality of urban planning but engenders diverse, compact and integrated communities.Key responsibilities were:
1.Project set up
2.Carrying out site survey/analysis, developing preliminary sketches and design. 
3.3D visualization for client update.
4.Development of scheme and detailed design documents for approval by the council . 
5.Site administration, contract management ,project supervision and delivery.
