# Elora Strom > Senior Software Engineer Location: Baltimore, Maryland, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/elora Carnegie Mellon computer science courses provide me with a strong foundation that I hope to apply and build upon in the workforce. In both fast-paced classroom and work environments, I've adapted to evaluating and mastering new skills quickly . My work experience frequently requires actively learning on the job through hands-on assignments. I learned React at Honeln and the fundamentals of web development by interning at Church of the Nativity. I also work well on teams. My team focused coding experiences have allowed me to implement diverse ideas to collaboratively generate cohesive and unique code. With CMU preparing me to undertake the modern challenges facing the world of computer science, I aspire to utilize and cultivate my programming skills through full time work in the programming sector of a company or startup. ## Work Experience ### Senior Software Engineer @ Shef Jan 2023 – Jan 2023 ### Software Engineer @ Shef Jan 2021 – Jan 2023 ### Software Engineer @ Detroit Tigers Jan 2019 – Jan 2021 | Greater Detroit Area ### Computing Services Assistant @ Carnegie Mellon University Jan 2017 – Jan 2019 | Greater Pittsburgh Area I have held two positions at Computing Services part-time while at school. Balancing working part-time at school with classes has taught me time-management. At my first position, I was a front desk attendant at the Help Center. I held this position from January 2017 to May 2018. I conducted initial intake, in which I gathered all the relevant information about the customer's issue so our staff could quickly diagnose and fix the issue. This position taught me how to work within an organization and help my coworkers out any way I can. At my second position, I was a lending desk attendant. I held this position from August 2017 to May 2019. I distributed audio and media equipment to people giving presentations in the building. In addition to this, I helped our lendees troubleshoot if they experience an issue while setting up their presentation. This position primarily involves me working independently. ### Software Engineer Intern @ HoneIn Jan 2017 – Jan 2018 | Baltimore, Maryland Area I worked on a team to code a goal management platform. We wanted to enable small and medium sized businesses to track their data in order to improve as an organization. I have coded various pages and components for the site using React, and improved functionality of the Java backend. I worked with other interns to create and maintain API documentation. ### Web Development Intern @ Church of the Nativity Jan 2016 – Jan 2016 | Baltimore, Maryland Area I built and maintained websites that helped the church gather and report information. One site I worked on allowed church attendees to sign in, which helped track attendance, and sign up for email blasts to stay up to date with church news. I also built several sites used by church employees to document and report information. These sites helped facilitate communication among employees and ensured that issues an employee noticed were resolved. I spent the first few weeks of my internship learning the basics of web development, and the remainder working on projects. I started with front-end development, then used PHP for simple sites, and Node.js for multi-page applications. My mentor was a great resource and helped me build a foundation for my web development knowledge. ### Juvenile Department Intern @ Baltimore County State's Attorney's Office Jan 2015 – Jan 2016 | Baltimore, Maryland Area I assisted prosecutors for juveniles by organizing and scanning case documents. At the end of my internship, I decided law wasn't for me. It was still a great learning experience. It was my first time working in an office. Also, working in the law field made me realize that I didn't like law as much as I thought I would. Since then, I've been learning about and working in the computer science field, which I love doing. ## Education ### Bachelor's degree in Computer Science Carnegie Mellon University Jan 2016 – Jan 2019 ### Parallel Enrollment Community College of Baltimore County Jan 2015 – Jan 2016 ### High School in Law and Public Policy Magnet Program Towson High School Jan 2012 – Jan 2016 ## Contact & Social - LinkedIn: https://linkedin.com/in/elora-strom --- Source: https://flows.cv/elora JSON Resume: https://flows.cv/elora/resume.json Last updated: 2026-03-23
