On weekends, you can find me skiing, hiking, creating playlists, or generating a secret list of the best coffee shops in San Francisco. I have been taking a career break for a while to rest and reset, and I'm itching to get started on a new project! ## Work Experience ### Product Designer @ Scenery Jan 2024 – Jan 2024 | San Francisco, California, United States Introduced to the project by my former manager from Final Cut Pro X, I worked with marketing, engineering, product, and QA teams to take bugs and ideas from tickets to new features. I developed complex web application interfaces for an in-browser video editor that allowed for real-time collaboration. I worked closely with marketing and customer experience to ensure the long term success of the product and specific features. ### Design Manager and Head of Design @ QOMPLX, Inc. Jan 2022 – Jan 2023 | Tysons Corner, Virginia, United States I worked with all other department heads on the product side of the company managing the process of product design and development from idea to implementation. I reported to and directly collaborated with the General Manager of the company to oversee all product developments and changes within the company's software suite. Managed the design team and facilitated the process of feature handoff between design and engineering. ### Innovation Designer @ QOMPLX, Inc. Jan 2021 – Jan 2022 | Tysons Corner, Virginia, United States I started on the R&D team, working with talented engineers to build proof-of-concepts of new hacking tools. When the previous product design team left, I expanded from R&D to our entire suite of products as the sole product designer at the company. While in this role, I also filled in gaps in the company when needed, conducting a pen test, writing up reports, and assisting other teams. ### Interface Design Intern @ Apple Jan 2020 – Jan 2020 | Cupertino, California, United States I worked on the Pro Video Apps design team doing visual interface design and human interaction design for unreleased functionality in Final Cut Pro X. During my time there, I also designed a new internal tool for the team to use that facilitated the design thinking workflow, won a company-wide intern contest with a team of other interns, and proposed an idea that is currently under review by patent team. ### Product Manager @ Crosstown LA Jan 2019 – Jan 2020 | Greater Los Angeles Area I proposed an idea that received funding through the Google News Initiative and managed a team to build it. ### Senior Designer @ Crosstown LA Jan 2019 – Jan 2020 | Greater Los Angeles Area Crosstown is a non-profit focused on data-driven journalism. I lead a team of designers to create content for articles, posts, and newsletters on crime, traffic, and air quality in Los Angeles. I helped Crosstown shift to a more modern, design-oriented company by creating their new style of digital illustrations and data visualizations for stories and social media. We used Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, WordPress, SurveyMonkey, and more to create compelling graphics and push them to our audience. I was in charge of onboarding all new designers and managing day-to-day design and intel operations. This included distributing workload among designers, facilitating communication between departments, and improving the company’s overall workflow. I planned and conducted new ways for Crosstown to gather user data and developed and tested new products in an increasingly digital and visual world of journalism. ### Creative Consultant and Freelance Designer, Developer, and Photographer @ Working for myself Jan 2013 – Jan 2020 | Greater Los Angeles Area Over the past six years, I have been doing creative work and creative consulting for companies in the areas of photography, design, development, and branding. I have organized and run dozens of product, fashion, portrait, athletic, and corporate photoshoots. Some clients include USC Men’s Lacrosse, Live More Naturals, Kyoku, Beverly Hills Lingerie, Pure Malibu, and Muchacha Los Angeles. I have also consulted for multiple companies on their user experience, user interface, and website designs, providing them with constructive feedback, revised designs, and proposed changes. By commission, I do artwork, digital illustration, and code personal and small business websites. ### Design Consultant @ Mattel, Inc. Jan 2019 – Jan 2019 | El Segundo, California, United States I worked with a team of students from the Iovine and Young Academy to help the Hot Wheels team at Mattel develop a strategy for connecting with kids of a demographic they had not had prior success with. Over a four month period, we worked with a number of employees and managers on the product team for Hot Wheels to conduct research and user testing, perform market analysis, and identify core pain points for their audience. By the end of the project, we presented Mattel with our proposed ideas (which I cannot disclose) accompanied with MVPs for those ideas and a project plan to make them happen. ### Creative Technologist Intern @ Los Angeles Times Jan 2019 – Jan 2019 | Greater Los Angeles Area I worked on the Creative Technology team to research, design, and develop a website for the department to showcase their internship program and attract future applicants and partnerships. I worked with leads and creative directors to develop a clear vision, modern design, and purpose for the website. I wrote the website from scratch with HTML and CSS using the San Diego Union Tribune and the Los Angeles Times (unlaunched at the time) rebrand as references for the design to remain on-brand. I used Vue.js and JavaScript to set up a Google Sheet as a backend, allowing Cal Times employees to add/edit information on projects and update team members after I left. ### Teaching Assistant - Web Development @ University of Southern California Jan 2019 – Jan 2019 | Greater Los Angeles Area Taught students about HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery during and after class.
