# Emma R. > Full-Stack Engineer Location: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/emmar I have been helping startups with iOS development since 2013, full-stack and devops since 2016. I have deep AWS experience, and a somewhat unusual background in creating software products end-to-end. -- In 2019 I started building Lazzy as the first technical hire; it's an on-demmand delivery platform that has since processed over $60m worth of customer orders. I'd love to talk about our unique approach! Before that, I spent nearly a year building Phocus - an analytics and route planning tool built specifically for healthcare. The pilot programs were successful and we launched shortly after, eventually being adopted by a large pharmaceutical company. Between these startups, I teamed up with an old cofounder to build Hatch; it's a fun mindfulness game designed to help kids focus on their homework! With more than 200,000 installs around the world, our users love integrating Hatch into their daily routines. When I'm not building something, I'll typically do contract work. For example a recent project involved building a cross-platform mobile app for use in a clinical study (including a web tool to manage the research) for a leading healthcare company. -- TECH INDUSTRY SINCE 2009 STACKOVERFLOW 13YRS GITHUB 10YRS IN-PERSON AT WWDC FOR THE SWIFT ANNOUNCEMENT ## Work Experience ### Senior Staff Full-Stack Engineer @ Jump Jan 2023 – Present ### Founding Engineer @ Lazzy Jan 2019 – Jan 2023 | New York, New York, United States In 2019 I started building Lazzy as the first engineering hire; it's a B2B on-demmand delivery platform that's since handled tens of millions of dollars in customer orders. We've grown from 3 people in a NYC WeWork, to a distributed team of ~20 people worldwide! ### Technical Cofounder @ Org NYC Jan 2020 – Jan 2020 | NYC I renovated an outsourced MVP and ran a software development internship for summer 2020 ### Technical Cofounder @ Hatch Jan 2018 – Jan 2019 | Brooklyn, New York, United States Hatch is a small self-funded company based in Brooklyn. We're figuring out how to help kids stay focused on their homework and study better. Impact > profit. ### Mobile Consultant @ Fortune 50 Brand Jan 2015 – Jan 2019 | Philadelphia I worked closely with a Fortune 500 brand to develop their award-winning mobile products. I cannot disclose the brand publicly due to a restrictive NDA, but I am happy to discuss in-person. ### Founding Engineer @ Phocus Technologies Jan 2017 – Jan 2018 | Chicago, Illinois, United States I built the initial mobile product for Phocus Technologies, serving as tech lead from first line of code to first hire. Phocus is a mobile application that streamlines the sales planning process by applying simple UI/UX to rich data and analytics. We create value for our users by giving them a more efficient travel pattern and a more effective customer touch-point schedule -- all directly at the convenience of your fingertips. ### iOS Lead Engineer @ Cents Jan 2016 – Jan 2017 | Salt Lake City Metropolitan Area I joined Cents as lead mobile developer (iOS only at the time), I built the beautifully-designed MVP from start to finish. We integrated with online banking systems using third-parties like Plaid and Dwolla, and used Stripe for some payments. Cents was an app that would round-up your spending (by monitoring your bank/credit card), and use the excess to pay off your debt! ### macOS Developer @ Pinstriped Jan 2016 – Jan 2017 | Copenhagen Area, Denmark I helped Pinstriped build their macOS product in the early stages. Pinstriped enables you to have shorter and more focused meetings. We make it easy for the person calling the meeting to take ownership of the meeting and prepare an agenda and ensure the meeting is decision-focused, instead of discussion-focused. ### iOS Developer @ Blurry App Jan 2016 – Jan 2017 | San Francisco Bay Area As a consultant, I assisted in the creation of Blurry's first mobile product: a social network for sharing photos on college campuses, and beyond. ### Lead Engineer @ Hyper™ Jan 2015 – Jan 2016 | Brooklyn Hyper was the largest social platform you've never heard of (competing with the likes of Yik-Yak, Whisper, and Monkey). We had good traction and tons of content, but ultimately struggled with the same problem that Yik Yak encountered: it's hard to monetize anonymous content, especially in a post-Facebook world. ### Technical Co-Founder @ LegDay Jan 2015 – Jan 2015 | Irvine, California, United States LegDay was an app for gym communities; I built a proof of concept (nearly MVP) pre-seed ### Lead iOS Developer @ Loot! - Earn Cash and Rewards Instantly Jan 2014 – Jan 2015 ### Head Of Mobile @ VUID, Inc. Jan 2014 – Jan 2015 | Philadelphia ## Contact & Social - LinkedIn: https://linkedin.com/in/emmavray - Website: https://wellfound.com/u/emmavray - Website: https://violetray.me --- Source: https://flows.cv/emmar JSON Resume: https://flows.cv/emmar/resume.json Last updated: 2026-03-22
