Working on credit card integrations 💳

• Lead engineer on a product development engineering team of 4 other engineers, a product manager, and an engineering manager. Responsibilities included guiding team through technical issues and challenges, scoping and directing projects, collaborating cross functionally with other parts of the business, and onboarding new engineers.

• Lead all scrum ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand up, sprint grooming, and sprint retro.

• Subject matter expert of Simon Data’s backend real time data processing pipeline which is built using AWS services such as API Gateway, Kinesis, Lambda, DynamoDB and a PostgreSQL database. Real time data pipeline processes greater than 1 billion events per month for all clients including large-scale clients such JetBlue and ASOS.

• Lead product development of Database Trigger project with a team of 2 other engineers. This was a requirement for clients such as JetBlue and TripAdvisor and enabled us to pull real time data from a clients database and ingest them into Simon to trigger emails, push notifications, send SMS texts, or syncs to advertising lists in real time.

• Built Real Time Content product which allows us when rendering an email, push notification, or SMS text message to send to make external API calls to client endpoints to fetch real time data to populate in the message.

• Mentored multiple junior engineers as well as lead engineering department presentations covering topics such as the importance of Datadog metrics and monitoring and AWS Lambda.

• Built and maintained ETL data pipelines using Django, Jenkins, EC2, and EMR to bring in data from external client databases and services for large scale clients such as OpenTable, Tumblr, and Casper.

• Lead engineering discussion with clients in weekly meetings to ensure they are integrating with our platform efficiently and effectively and aided their engineering teams when needed.
