I am the technical lead for the FinOps program at Sumo Logic.

Since Fall 2022, I teach Web Programming in the Fall semester and Web Applications in the Spring semester.

Web programming focuses on the fundamentals of server-rendered websites using PHP and MySQL on the backend, and HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (progressive enhancing) on the frontend.

Web Applications focuses on single page applications leveraging full stack JavaScript with React on the frontend and Express on the backend.

I advised a couple teams of students on their capstone projects for this class.

I researched and executed on projects designed to reduce our overall cloud spend. This work spanned from optimizing existing services to use fewer resources to migrating resources across IaaS providers to researching ways to rearchitect our implementation of services all in service of reducing cost without compromising performance or reliability.

I was reclassified into the senior software engineer position based on previous successes in anchoring teams and continued technical growth.

Additionally, I served as an anchor of the virtual devops team and the infrastructure pod. My duties as anchor for the devops group includes:

As the anchor for the infrastructure team, I was responsible for advocating for engineering concerns with the product owner, assisting in keeping the engineering team productive, and ensuring regular processes occur such as periodic retrospectives.
