# Eric Segerberg > Software Engineer @ Iru Location: San Francisco, California, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/ericsegerberg ‍As a recent Master's graduate from The University of Chicago with a degree in computer science, I'm excited to launch my career in software development. During my studies, I gained hands-on experience through tackling challenging projects. For example, I built a scalable genomics annotation service with EC2 hosted frontend and backend services, leveraging autoscaling groups with ELB to ensure high availability and scalability. Additionally, I was project lead for a team of 6 engineers and architected a microservice-based auction system utilizing React for the client application, Express.js for service request routing, and Flask for the API framework. I interned as an Integrations Engineer at ASM Global, building ETL pipelines and optimizing existing data workflows to improve our stakeholders experience. I'm a fast learner, and am always looking to grow my skillset and take on new challenges so let's connect and discuss how I can add value to your team! ## Work Experience ### Software Engineer @ Iru Jan 2024 – Present ### Integrations Engineer Intern @ ASM Global Jan 2023 – Jan 2023 • Developed an automated process for ASM's global survey distribution program to notify venue administrators in real-time of errors in their customer contact file submissions. Led to a 85% reduction in time for admins to correct errors and successfully distribute surveys to their event customers. • Built an Azure Databricks pipeline to extract data from a 3rd party system containing survey responses from attendees of Ticketmaster events at US venues and ingest it into our warehouse. Enabled our BI team to generate reports on this data for the first time; used to enhance the fan experience for 100k+ fans. • Took initiative to satisfy data requests for our Marketing team using complex SQL queries on tables of up to 30M records, leading to targeted customer marketing and sale of thousands of additional concert tickets. ### Senior CX Technology Consultant @ Qualtrics Jan 2019 – Jan 2023 • Technical lead for end-to-end implementations of Experience Management (XM) software for Enterprise and Federal clients. • Saved 100+ hours of manual work by building Python scripts leveraging the Qualtrics public API to automate client tasks, such as editing survey data and bulk importing survey responses. • Led the design of a custom closed-loop API project, resulting in a 15% increase in new development revenue for the Engineering Services team. • Served as primary point of contact for client web development teams for management of Qualtrics JavaScript code injected on their site to provide digital touchpoints to their users. • Maintained detailed project plans, lead User Acceptance Testing efforts, and drove product escalations and feature requests with Engineering teams. ### Senior Product Specialist @ Qualtrics Jan 2019 – Jan 2019 • Supported and trained end-users in core competencies for customer experience programs for our entire client base, including Fortune 500 company program leaders, small business owners and professors. • Specialized in 6 different Qualtrics product offerings, focusing on our CX suite that included Dashboard Reporting, API and Website/App Feedback. • Spearheaded initiative with Global Operations Managers to improve our onboarding process. Reduced the time needed for our new Product Specialists to learn the product and feel comfortable to begin engaging with customers by 15%. ### Product Specialist @ Qualtrics Jan 2018 – Jan 2019 ### Undergraduate Researcher @ Duke University Jan 2017 – Jan 2018 | Duke University • Successfully developed an algorithm using C++ to provide accurate pointing information for supernova neutrinos detected in water-Cherenkov detectors. • Implemented techniques from vector and linear algebra in code using ROOT and C++ to recreate electron scattering distributions. Simulated 1000's of events using my algorithm to produce plots to compare to the BONSAI fitter, a known fitting program for neutrino events, achieving 97% accuracy in reconstructing neutrino distributions. • Frequently used Mac OS Unix command line for creating/moving/copying files, running scripts and for making SSH connections into the Physics Department server for writing code and accessing data. • Wrote scripts to use HTCondor to run parallel computing jobs on clusters. ### Teaching Assistant @ Duke University Jan 2017 – Jan 2017 | Duke University • Tutored students in introductory mechanics and introductory electricity and magnetism, leading discussions of up to 20 students in multiple office hours each week. • Engaged in individualized discussions with students to walk them through specific concepts and worked examples on the board. ## Education ### Master of Science - MS in Computer Science University of Chicago Jan 2022 – Jan 2024 ### Bachelor’s Degree in Physics Duke University Jan 2014 – Jan 2018 ### High School Fairfield Warde High School Jan 2010 – Jan 2014 ## Contact & Social - LinkedIn: https://linkedin.com/in/ericsegerberg --- Source: https://flows.cv/ericsegerberg JSON Resume: https://flows.cv/ericsegerberg/resume.json Last updated: 2026-03-23
