Focus on ergonomic study, important key components concept and architecture design. Notable Accomplishments: A revolutionary modular design concept for a headset to support repairability and recyclability Headset Critical Ergonomic Dimension Study Cool and Comfort Earcup Design Study Multiple hinge concept designs, one hinge is under patent filing process Sustainability Plant base/biodegradable material Modularity Repairability Rejoined Smart Home Group in Logitech in June 2016, worked on three smart home devices. They are Harmony Express Remote & Hub with voice control function and released on 16/April/2019. It includes blue tooth and dual band antenna (remote and hub) microphone and speaker on remote only two RGB LEDs to evenly and beautifully illuminate OK button light ring (ID 18 mm with 1 mm width) rechargeable battery inside the remote. Echo Spot type smart clock with far field voice control with Blue tooth and dual band antenna 2.5” speaker OD 60 mm TFT display with touch function Finished CAD design and got Pre-EVT prototype build but project terminated in early 2017. ### Sr. Product Design Lead Engineer @ Amazon Lab126 Jan 2013 – Jan 2016 | Sunnyvale, CA Worked in Fire TV product design team as sr. product design lead engineer for its 1st and 2nd generation game controller from design to production. Through thorough GD&T study and creatively designed special control features to handle gap and mismatch on the product that is better than other 1st tier competitors’ product. Performed both 2nd generation voice control device and one living room multi-media concept product architecture and prototype study. ### Sr. Product Design Manager @ Logitech Jan 2007 – Jan 2013 | Fremont/Newark, CA Relocated to the Logitech Gaming Business Unit Mechanical Design team as a Sr. Product Design Manager. I led the team to finish over 30 products mechanical design including, but not limited to, touch control audio device design, backlighting pattern for light guide plate in backlighting keyboard, G25 Racing Wheel, Advanced Flight System G940, Wireless Guitar Controller, and Wireless Drum Controller. ### Sr. Mechanical Manager @ Logitech Jan 1998 – Jan 2007 Joined Logitech Far East Co. as a Sr. Mechanical Designer focusing on gaming product design(joy stick for flight simulator and racing wheel) and related plastic material development. Promoted to the Mechanical Engineering Manager. In my management capacity, I was responsible for running multiple projects that spanned the sites of Asia, North America and Europe. Led my teams to successfully implement Computer Aided Engineering for Simulation and analysis, Molding Process Improvement, Supplier Molding, Tooling and Engineering Improvement. These experiences had helped me thoroughly consider manufacturing processes to make better design to the product in my later career. These experiences had helped me create the most optimal/best design for the products to optimize the manufacturing processes. ### Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer @ DBTEL Jan 1996 – Jan 1998 Entered the consumer electronics industry at a Telecom company. Developed and finished a 600 DPI scanner optical-mechanical chassis design that included the lens and a set of reflection mirrors from design to production. ### Mechnical Engineer @ Microwave Technology, Inc. Jan 1995 – Jan 1996 Joined Microwave Technology Inc. in 1995. Worked in a local high frequency satellite communication company (Microwave Technology Inc. a design partner of Hughes Communication Inc.). Notable Accomplishments: Developed the 1st aluminum die casting housing for high frequency satellite receiver. This process sharply reduced product CNC cost and increased daily capacity. Learned aluminum extrusion process during the year and how to deal with thermos (designed a natural cooling KU band satellite receiver with dimension 12”X6”X6” for a large dish with heat dissipation fins around it). ### Design Engineer @ Yulon Motor Jan 1992 – Jan 1995 Joined engine development branch, I learned the traditional mechanical processes including, but not limited to, stamping, sand casting, die casting, welding, CNC, milling, lathe, injection tooling, metal welding, metal coating and painting, engine manufacturing and assembly process. I also used the 3D Computer Aided Design tool extensively to design precision engine component parts, and complex assembly processes for the Bill of Materials structure through an automobile development cycle. This job laid a very solid foundation for my later careers in the mechanical engineering field. ## Education ### Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering National Taipei University of Technology ## Contact & Social - LinkedIn: https://linkedin.com/in/eric-su-9aa64637 --- Source: https://flows.cv/ericsu1 JSON Resume: https://flows.cv/ericsu1/resume.json Last updated: 2026-04-05
