# Erin L. > Full-stack Software Engineer, Tech Lead Location: Seattle, Washington, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/erinl I am a former journalism major adapting my skills in communication and intentional composition to a career in software engineering. As an architecturally-minded engineer, I prefer to work full-stack and I love working at companies with a lot of growth, innovation, and excitement for the future, where I get to address new challenges every day. I enjoy the complexity of a data-intensive software environment and collaborating with a passionate team to build intelligent, intuitive, and delightful software that meaningfully improves the experience of real people every day. Outside of work, my hobbies include: figure skating, sewing, riding my bikes, and cooking. The topics closest to my heart are ethics, climate change, social justice, and the experiences of women in the field of computing. ## Work Experience ### Staff Software Engineer @ Afresh Jan 2022 – Present ### Founding Engineer @ Pando Jan 2021 – Jan 2022 Designed and implemented frameworkless frontend to support initial launch in July 2021 of Pando application to customers. Also defined the technical north star for the future of the machine learning platform. Built features to supplement an intelligent, intuitive, and delightful statistical analysis software called Stats iQ using Python (numpy, pandas, TensorFlow) and JavaScript (NodeJS, React, Redux) backed by various datastores (Redis, MySQL) with a team of five other engineers. Some highlights: deprecating and rewriting a crosstabulation (Crosstabs) product, localization, a variable creation workflow (including variable bucketing and formula processing). Designed, wrote, and maintained an operational tool used to monitor background job failures and other operational status indicators across multiple data centers in a single frontend interface written in JavaScript with React and Node, with data replicated in MongoDB clusters per data center. ### Undergraduate Instructor - Computer Structures, Intro to Computer Science @ Indiana University School of Informatics and Computing Jan 2013 – Jan 2016 | Indiana University Bloomington Led a project-focused lab section of C335 Computer Structures each week to teach multi-layer computer structure concepts so students can follow their C programs to assembly language and machine code on STM32 hardware.
