# Erin Wong > Robotics Software Engineer at Telos Health | MS in Robotics Graduate from CMU Location: San Francisco Bay Area, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/erinwong I graduated with my M.S. in Robotics at Carnegie Mellon University in May 2023. For more information about my projects, please go to my portfolio found at: https://erinwong111.wixsite.com/portfolio ## Work Experience ### Software Engineer II - Robotics @ Telos Health Jan 2024 – Present ### Graduate Research Assistant at CMU's Zoom Lab @ Carnegie Mellon University Jan 2021 – Jan 2023 Implemented sensors on a custom PCB for gap detection for use by small robots. Developed a ROS integrated simulation environment for algorithm testing. Wrote and tested motion planning and environmental mapping algorithms using sensor data. This research was for my Master's Thesis. ### Robotics Intern @ SRI International Jan 2022 – Jan 2022 Designed in SolidWorks and implemented several iterations of an active knee brace for ACL injuries. Knee braces were created from 3D scans of the knee. Developed a smooth pipeline from 3D scanning to SolidWorks to 3D printing, to make future versions creations simple. Created Matlab scripts to analyze the data. ### Undergraduate Research Assistant at CMU's Robomechanics Lab @ Carnegie Mellon University Jan 2021 – Jan 2021 Lead undergraduate efforts on testing a microspine robot for wall climbing. Work included coding robot gaits, design iteration, devising a test protocol, and conducting experiments. ### Robotic Research and Development Intern @ Smith & Nephew Jan 2020 – Jan 2020 Engaged in surgical robotics. Designed and executed a feasibility study that leveraged Computer Aided Design, robot kinematics, and coding skills. Utilized strong technical writing ability with the completion of design requirements, testing protocol, and a formal engineering report. ### Engineering Intern @ Gannett Fleming Jan 2019 – Jan 2019 Gained experience in engineering consulting mainly by assisting engineers on the Caltrain Modernization Project, the Bay Area’s initiative to electrify a mass transit rail corridor. Used Python to optimize project efficiency, engaged in problem solving, and maintained client-company relations. ### Andrew Ambassador @ Carnegie Mellon University Jan 2018 – Jan 2018 | Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania I lead campus tours and helped out as an office assistant in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. In the office, I completed tasks such as answering prospective student emails, restocking supplies, and sending mail. ### Summer Intern @ GSV Asset Management Jan 2018 – Jan 2018 | Woodside, California I lead the research and development of a robotics newsletter for GSV. The report is about the state of play of the robotics industry including insights on trends, startup data, corporate activity, and emerging areas of innovation. As part of my research, I interviewed people in the robotics space to gather different perspectives. ### Team Leader @ Galileo Learning Jan 2018 – Jan 2018 I was a camp counselor for a group of 20 first and second graders. I transitioned them between classes, lead group bonding time, and helped them in the classroom. ## Education ### Master of Science in Robotics (MSR) Carnegie Mellon University ### Bachelor of Science - BS in Double Major: Robotics and Mechanical Engineering Carnegie Mellon University ### Saint Francis High School ## Contact & Social - LinkedIn: https://linkedin.com/in/erinwong --- Source: https://flows.cv/erinwong JSON Resume: https://flows.cv/erinwong/resume.json Last updated: 2026-04-10
