I work in Samsara's Routing organization, which is responsible for products that power day-to-day dispatch and route-planning operations for much of Samsara's customer base.

Prior, I worked on Samsara's Ingestion team, which builds and operates the company's sensor data ingestion and time series storage infrastructure. While on this team, I created and drop adoption of a stream processing framework tailored to our internal systems and data. The framework now powers dozens of features across Samsara's products.

In my first role at the company, I led a fullstack team within the Industrial business unit, which helped companies in water, energy, and manufacturing industries make efficient and safe use of their equipment.

As part of an interdisciplinary founding team building a connected hardware product, I developed the company's software systems and practices, spanning the embedded Linux software on our devices to the distributed system comprising our backend. After 18 months and several successful pilots, the company was acquired. I then oversaw systems architecture and developed our software team as we grew as a subsidiary of Earth Networks.

I joined Twitter in 2011 at the start of the multi-year effort to migrate away from Ruby on Rails to a service-oriented architecture based on Scala. Through stints on the Core Services, Core Systems Libraries, and Traffic teams, I built and operated global-scale backend services, maintained some of the most influential open source projects in the Scala community, and supported Twitter's multi-datacenter service infrastructure with solutions for service discovery, RPC routing, and cross-DC failover.
