Designed a single page application to enable Facebook friends to shop together for Amazon
items in real time using long-polling.
• Automated manual process of adding products to store with development of Sinatra based
API to retrieve search results and product information about amazon products, that cached
product information from Amazon in Redis.
• Built a recommendation engine in Ruby that used Facebook data to recommend Amazon
products.
• Instigated Pivot away from shopping on Amazon to sharing photos to retrieve friend’s
feedback.
• Established KPI for new image sharing product and developed analytics to track it.
• Developed a white label solution to enable third party groups to add “share by SMS”
functionality to their site to allow people to solicit friend’s feedback.
