Created brand-new components, pages, storage methods, backend API calls, etc. to allow Shopify Logistics users to book Flexport freight into SL centers completely on their own. - Helped create a notification system which keeps users up to date on the needed documents and actions to help their freight pass through customs - Improved frontend performance for Flexport's Seller Portal significantly by reducing our app bundle size by 35% ### Senior Software Engineer @ Shopify Jan 2023 – Jan 2023 ### Software Engineer @ Shopify Jan 2021 – Jan 2023 Full-stack engineer working on Shopify's Logistics offering. A few things I did: - Co-championed a project to add frontend performance monitoring and custom event monitoring tooling to Shopify's fulfillment app - Championed a project to help make the process of sending goods into our network more intuitive. Took the entire project from idea, to tech design, to breaking down the work, to coordinating a team of engineers, to completion. This ultimately reduced the amount of time from first adding goods in the app to arriving in our network from 22 to 8 days. - Mentored an intern to FTO, fixed lots of bugs and race conditions, performed on-call duties, helped us switch network calls over to websockets instead of polling, gave talks on frontend performance tracking and advanced typescript skills, etc. - Led a hackathon project team to improve the Shop mobile app with a fun interactive game to help users discover new products. Our project was selected as an overall winner of the company-wide event. ### Software Engineer @ Passed Plates Jan 2019 – Jan 2021 | San Francisco Bay Area Brought a mobile marketplace app from idea to fully-functional product with a team of 2 other devs. Ended up in use by about a dozen restaurants in San Francisco before the pandemic hit and we shuttered the app. It securely handled user auth, financial transactions, barcode scanning, geolocation, and much more, all powered by a backend built o Django, DRF, and postgreSQL, with full test coverage (pytest) and automated CI/CD (ansible/terraform) ### Product Manager @ SAP Jan 2018 – Jan 2019 | San Francisco Bay Area I was part of the Silicon Valley Next Talent (SVNT) program, a rotational program where we tried out different jobs on different teams at the company for a year.
