I had never thought about my career. In my twenties, I just did whatever I wanted to do – my passions. I had soft and hard skills to survive in the world. But I knew I was missing something. Plus I wanted to give something back to society with my skills, I wanted to give back to all those people I had had the good fortune to learn from. I have decided to apply at a school called Hyper Island and since August 2018 I have been enrolled in the Content Developer/Design program. During my time at school, I realize that I love people. I want to connect with people and be creative, but I didn't know how to use and apply this passion in a particular field. The methodology that Hyper Island is quite unique and gives the students the possibility to experiment and discover what is their skills that really want to develop. That helped me find out that I love research, revealing what people think, doing surveys and interviews, and I also love visual design. I see that in User Experience, thinking about what others feel and why they act as they do. If you love people and being creative, it’s a really interesting field. Now I am working as UX Designer at Tui Nordic. It's been one of the best jobs I ever had. It has been a real blast working in an industry and to have the opportunity to create an experience for people that actually looking for their next traveling experience and why not an experience they might never forget. My current journey as UX Designer at Tui Nordic bridges perfectly with my previous career as Chef. I have been working as a chef for 13 years in the past. Working in the kitchen is all about pressure. It is a job that requires high physical and mental strength. You need to learn to stand the heat and perform every day your maximum. No matter if is Monday or Friday evening you need to please your guests and give them the best experience. It is a job that you can not do from home or sitting on your desk. You need to make your hands dirty. Doing a profession like that for so many years help me to shape myself to who I am today and I learn to appreciate the outcome from hard work. The decision of changing from Chef to UX Designer, it was more personal, and I was really happy about those little things that are really important. UX and cooking food are about people, after all. ## Work Experience ### UX Designer @ Swedbank Pay Jan 2021 – Present | Stockholm County, Sweden Conducted end-to-end mixed-methods foundational research on the needs, goals, and challenges of our mid-market and tier 1 merchant segment, partners, and end customers (consumers). The insights have been applied in product development, influenced annual & KPIs, and used for decision-making in commercial, operational, and product teams alike. In my collaborative research process, I showed the value of research in helping us more quickly develop the most valuable solutions and messaging for merchants, and as a result, was allowed to lead and build valuable digital products and pages. Also design email templets and crate a strategy for email communications. ### UX Designer @ TUI Jan 2019 – Jan 2020 | Stockholm, Sweden My role as a UX designer at TUI includes the entire process from user research, user testing, A/B testing, design sketches, design system implementation, presenting new ideas and deliver for development. In this way, I help shape how people use our products and services and make sure their experience is good and beneficial. ### UX/UI Designer @ Buddy Pet Foods Jan 2019 – Jan 2019 | Stockholm County, Sweden My assignment for Buddy Pet Food was to create snackable and engaging content for dog owners. I design new components, graphic elements and create engaging copy that is going to be used on their website. By using storytelling we aim to make the dog owners more engaged with the brand and open to try out the products. ### UX Designer @ Qoali Jan 2019 – Jan 2019 | Stockholm County, Sweden My task was to produce content for the company Qoali. By creating content and design components for the web page and combining that with a digital strategy. The main objective was to make Qoali stand out from their competitors by becoming creative, cool, mainstream. ### Content Designer @ Peppy Pals Jan 2019 – Jan 2019 | Stockholm County, Sweden I have worked with my team on creating a Social Media strategy and content for social media for the game company Peppy Pals. The objectives were to: i) Grow the social media platforms to get more legitimacy and increased awareness on both Peppy Pals and EQ - with a focus on Instagram and YouTube. ii) Drive Users to download the new app iii) Get teachers and schools to sign up and pay for the platform Peppy Pals School. ### User Experience Designer @ ICA Gruppen Jan 2019 – Jan 2019 | Stockholm County, Sweden Together with my team from Hyper Island I got an assignment to work for ICA e-commerce. Project Description: A large part of ICA's heart is about human interactions in the physical store. How should ICA act when the customer journey is digital and human interactions are missing. ICA has collected some stories about the human encounter in the book "Local deviations may occur" and from there we gain an insight into how human interactions influenced ICA and its customers. This was one of my favorite assignments so far, very challenging and we had to be very creative and agile in the way that we work approach the specific task. ### User Experience Designer @ Above.se Jan 2019 – Jan 2019 | Stockholm County, Sweden Together with my team, we were passing a design challenge to raise awareness, interests, and desire about Above’s Business Innovation package through the use of social media and the Webpage. ### User Experience Designer @ Swedish Red Cross Jan 2018 – Jan 2018 | Stockholm County, Sweden I got to work on an assignment with the Swedish Red Cross. The task was to come up with an idea and a suggestion for ‘engaging content’ in Protection and i. International Humanitarian Law, ii. Healthcare, iii. Emergency preparedness and Response The focus area was located under the ‘WHAT WE DO’ content section of the Red Cross webpage.(Info Pages) Objectives were to engage visitors as volunteers and donors, to learn from core knowledge in this section. Mobile-first format, with online e-commerce capabilities. (Donate, verification, authenticated) ### UX Design and Brand Design @ Less Big Byrd (Band) Jan 2018 – Jan 2018 | Stockholm County, Sweden The right branding of a musical group can propeller it to stardom. The wrong branding can do the opposite. A band follows the same brand journey as many companies. They go from nothing into something. They build from the ground up. Their background, values, and ethics help define them and when used in a storytelling context can create a relationship with their consumer. In this case, their audience. With that said I got to create a content universe for the band called Les Big Byrd. Including social media graphic profile, webpage design and a short documentary series. ### Chef De Partie @ RestaurangAssistans Jan 2018 – Jan 2018 | Stockholm, Sweden I have been in the business for almost 13 years. As a chef, my responsibility was to develop new recipes, planning menus, train the kitchen staff, manage the inventory, doing daily quality controls, monitoring the safety standards, coordinating with the purchasing department and manage relations with the customer. Working as a chef is all about pressure. It is a job that requires high physical and mental strength. You need to learn to stand the heat and perform every day your maximum no matter if is Monday or Friday evening. There is no excuse such as I had a bad day at the office. It is a job that you can not do from home or sitting on your desk.
