Led development, testing, and maintenance of firmware for deployed devices. Additionally, led a small team to develop new products, from prototyping to deployment. As part of this, established new systems to improve software quality and streamline communication to and from the engineering team. Dramatically improved efficiency and organization of existing systems. Beyond firmware, designed and built distributed computing services using AWS and Serverless. In addition to technical responsibilities, worked to establish and maintain partnerships with several multinational companies. As one of the core members of the team, guided company culture and pioneered a model for transparent self-evaluation and continuous improvement. ### Software Test Engineer @ DEKA Research & Development Jan 2017 – Jan 2018 | Manchester, NH Responsible for understanding and testing code to ensure validity. Collaborated with other engineers to maintain code base. Additionally, responsible for building and supporting a software tool to facilitate medical device testing. ### Amgen Scholar @ Harvard John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences Jan 2016 – Jan 2016 | Cambridge, MA The Harvard Biorobotics Lab Robotic grasping in unstructured environments faces many challenges. Clutter and occlusions make it difficult for pure vision-based object segmentation to be reliable. Tactile sensing is often used to compensate for errors in visual perception. However, current tactile sensors are limited in their coverage and do not provide enough information about grasp quality. We aimed to garner more information about grasps by installing low-cost micro-electrical-mechanical systems Inertial Measurement Units (IMUs) on the fingertips of our Reflex hand. We first characterized the IMUs, and determined that their resolution for measuring absolute position and orientation is too low for our purposes. Despite this, we found that the time-variant signals may still provide valuable information about tip rotation, time of contact, or even slippage. ### Theater Production Assistant @ Middlebury College Theater Department Jan 2015 – Jan 2016 | Middlebury, VT Built set pieces for on-campus plays, such as stages, walls, and furniture. I was responsible for independently completing projects and overcoming practical obstacles when encountered. Detail-oriented approach to ensure structural integrity and aesthetic appeal was critical. ### STEM Innovation Program 2015 @ Middlebury College Theater Department Jan 2015 – Jan 2015 | Middlebury, VT Brainstormed and researched a variety of project ides until we settled on one as a team. Researched and developed a thermal imaging device to improve diagnosis of digital dermatitis in dairy cattle. Developed novel software for analysis of infrared images on Raspberry Pi. Built custom GUI for use on portable touchscreen ### Math Foundations of Computing Tutor @ Middlebury College Computer Science Department Jan 2015 – Jan 2015 | Middlebury, VT Held regular office hours to advise students. Responsible for interpreting student questions and breaking down large concepts into simpler parts. ### First Year Counselor @ Middlebury College Residential Life Jan 2014 – Jan 2015 | Middlebury, VT Served as advisor on topics ranging from academics to personal life for 38 first-years.
