# Frank Chang > Lead Staff Software Engineer Location: South San Francisco, California, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/frankchang This cloud thing is pretty cool, isn't it? I discovered the power of cloud computing a while back when I was working on a project to build an offline app to sync data with Salesforce. I knew this was big, but had no idea how big. I spent the next few years working with the Salesforce platform, in various admin, developer, and product manager roles. About 5 years ago, I joined Workday, another leader in this space. At Workday, I got to build lots of integrations between the SFDC and Workday platforms! Getting clouds talking to other clouds is really fun and fulfilling. One of the "perks" here at Workday is that we get early access to new cutting edge technology and product features. One of which is Workday Extend, it allows Workday customers the ability to extend the natural capabilities of Workday, all with the look and feel of Workday's UI. My team here built the very first Workday Extend app (WorkCard) deployed to a production environment! My interests in cloud computing piqued when I worked on a project building an AI chatbot assistant for our HR organization. I learned so much more about cloud architecture, containers (Docker), micro-services, security, and orchestration (Kubernetes). I've been playing in the cloud for some time now, and I feel humbled because there's so much more to learn! The power is practically limitless. I love leveraging the cloud to translate business processes or requirements into system solutions! That feeling of accomplishment is just so rewarding! ## Work Experience ### Staff Software Engineer @ Stripe Jan 2022 – Present | San Francisco Bay Area Lead staff engineer in CorpTech ### Sr. Software Application Engineer, Workday on Workday @ Workday Jan 2017 – Jan 2022 | Pleasanton, California More to come! ### Product Manager - IT Applications @ Workday Jan 2016 – Jan 2017 | Pleasanton, CA ### IT Applications Engineer - SFDC Admin/Developer/PM @ Ooyala Jan 2015 – Jan 2016 | Santa Clara, Ca. As Ooyala’s SME on our core business systems (Salesforce (Vana HCM, Work.com), Zuora, Jira Integration), my primary function was to support business systems and process integration. During my tenure, Ooyala acquired two other companies and needed to merge these separate businesses into ours. In the end, we successfully consolidated 3 salesforce orgs into one, deprecated Zendesk and ServiceNow so that we were able to sell and support our customers from one full functioning instance of Salesforce (both sales and service cloud, and Marketo for marketing automation). At that time, Ooyala was a small(ish) company (< 600 employees) and a lot of us wore many hats. My contributions came in the form of an SFDC Admin, architect, developer and product manager. Here are are just few of the things I was responsible for: • Translating business requirements/use cases into technical specifications. • Translating technical specifications into system solutions. • Manage our business system roadmap and to maintain a prioritized product backlog. • Manage relationships with C-level stakeholders. ### Product Manager, Business Systems @ Rocket Lawyer Jan 2014 – Jan 2015 | San Francisco Bay Area Responsible for Rocket Lawyer's Salesforce instance.
