I served retired guests who stayed at the Forum Retirement home. Many guests had special needs and weren't able to eat normal food so we had to write down information on every single resident coming in to the dining room and make sure their needs were met while keeping them happy with their food/drinks. As we got new hires, I was tasked with mentoring them while on the floor. I had them shadow me and I explained why I serve in specific orders, why I would ask certain residents how they would like their food prepared, and also getting them used to introducing themselves to new residents they hadn't met. We were short staffed in the kitchen so when they needed people, they pulled me out of the dining room and into the kitchen where I learned various recipes and food preparing techniques. I would prepare food for the chef to cook every meal time.
